| HP Laptop - Bulk deal for PGites! -
09-04-2007, 02:32 PM
Hey PGites! Many of us are gonna join a B school and wud buy a laptop soon! I talked to some dealers at Lamington Road, Mumbai and they said that we can easily manage a bulk deal where we can get a good discount of ~2k ! The basic plan:
1. Decide upon the laptop model to buy, and post it here. We all can discuss pros n cons of our selected models and come down to the single model to avail the best deal. For more laptop gyaan, check this thread: http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/your-i...laptop-33.html (Buying A Laptop)
2. Once we decide on our laptop, we can know the actual number of people interested for this bulk deal. May be we can have 10 ppl for 1 kind of model and 10 for some other kind. In that way, we can have multiple bulk deals.
3. Non Mumbaikars can also join in and we can plan for the home delivery of laptops. Though such deals can be managed in every other city as well.
So, choose your laptop model and post it here! Added later: As most of the PGites are for DELL and HP bulk deal. We have two separate threads: HP Deal: http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/chit-c...al-pgites.html DELL Deal: http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/chit-c...ls-pgites.html General Laptop Discussions: (Buying A Laptop)http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/your-interests/2900-buying-a-laptop-33.html

Just want to suggest u guys...don't go for a laptop with AMD processor. Because it will get hot very soon....and instead of 512 MB of RAM u guys can go for 256 MB. But MUST are DVD RW facility and ATLEAST 120 GB hard disk..... also 14 inch will be too small...most of the time u guys will be staring the screens.. so 14 inch is not advisable.....go for 15.4 or atleast 15 inches.... | | | | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to shashankcts For This Useful Post:

Dude,
Even the link does not give any info about the RAM in the Graphics Card,at around 31K it definately sounds like a steal, would be better if we could know the RAM in the Graphics card (Me kinda Gamer) as well as the Battery Life (very important).

And 512 shud be minimum RAM dude, I wud say it shud be 1 GB! Cant think of 256 MB !! Quote: |

- And yeah, even for normal Office tools I wud say 512 MB shud be minimum.. Not 256MB man, we need to see the requirements of the OS as well! Anyhow, I'll go for 1 GB .. after all we'll also play games sometime.
