My votes for the following Model, which u wont regret buying, ya it comes wid a bit high price tag, but when all other brands are selling the same @ 10k more than this models price then its worth it. Also it is the latest one wid coer2duo processor and windows vista premium and 15.4' widescreen. Other things u see for itself:

I wud also like to mention that I have seen this model and it comes wid a remote control to help u wid many functions like volume up/down and more important the slide changes in ur presentation and many more functions. Also it has a integrated 1.3 Megapixel camera with 2-directional Microphone.(This is not mentioned on the website, but it is present in this model).

For Tablet (Touchscreen) lovers I wud recommend:

It weighs only 1.8 Kgs! Wht a mobility wid features.

Currently there is also a scheme running with HP notebooks. U'll get a Hupage TV Tuner card wid remote worth 6.5k+Reliance USB Data Card also.

So effective price of Upper model(DV6226TX) is 58k-6k=50k
and Tablet one is 61k-6k=55k.

I have'nt deducted the reliance data card price worth 5k as all of u might not avail it.

Latest Technology Err.... Going by Intel Marketing gimmicks it is.. But not otherwise...

The advantage of 64-bits is that It can take full advantage of 2 GB ram. Not 32-bit.

From the perspective of B-School, in my opinion, the single most important factor is Swiveling Screen as most of us will have to do a lot of reading.

5. DVD - DVD/CD Combo.. Rather than wasting money on slim internal DVD writer, groups of ppl (maybe 10) can buy an external DVD writer that is cheaper and more convenient for Data Transfer.

That is it. And now people can choose.

Basic configuration I am lookin for:

- Intel Core Duo processor/ AMD processor
- 2 GB RAM ( My current lappie has that much - so wont go below it )
- 120 GB HDD ( I guess its a must )
- 1 MB cache
- DVD Writer
- 3 USB Ports (additional)
- Integrated Web cam ( This would be an added luxury )
- 15 to 16 inch screen
- Wi-Fi enabled (this is a must)
- Optical USB mouse (also a must)
- Bluetooth, IR enabled
- Additional speakers (if it comes within the same)
- A proper warranty, and damage repair stuff etc.
- Carry bag (backpack to carry on the back)

Budget: 50 k

With all da above specifications and price, I came across certain HP models like the HP DV 6000 or so which have all da above features. Though the cost might JUST exceed wat I ask for. I feel the HP DV 6000 series rocks and should be recommededly bought in bulk.

I agree wid ur 32/64 bit thingy, that is why I have suggested Core2duo and not coreduoor dual core one.

Turion is the processor ctegory for Laptops only and it is dual core i.e., two processors and it is very well available in India and lastly abt ur swivel thingy See Hp Pavillion tx1003au I have mentioned above and it is just 30k cheaper than mentioned by u as it is AMD.
