You destroy millions of my sins, and teach me in so many ways.
I am so ignorant.
I understand nothing at all.
Please honor Your innate nature, and save me!

Well acknowledging your shortcoming is the first step towards that long road of improvement

Seriously though, I believe Murty was joking (He is not good at it, but I believe it is the effort that counts ), so calm down. You should get back with a joke on Madrasis, there are so many of them around. (Before someone feels offended, I too am a "Madrasi", well a South Indian )

Cheers..

You can also crack a joke on Marathis while at it (that's me). These days a few Marathis are making a joke of themselves anyway

Re: Sikh community protests against Sardar jokes - 18-02-2008, 07:26 PM

there is a quote that goes around in muslims.... "you may say all you want about god, he belongs to all, but say anything about muhommad and that would be the last thing you ever said"

This shows the kind of relegious sentiments people posess. Not any one community. People are ready to kill each other on the slightest provocation on their relegious sentiments, and we have seen it all around us.

As far as jokes about sikhs are concerned, people who say that you can make jokes on madarasis, bongs and gujjus are infact making an invalid argument. We are not talking here about jokes on punjabi's.

Would the same people stop minding if the jokes are infact on hindus, muslims or christans.

My argument here is people should think of how would they feel if the same thing comes back to them, before they make such comments

says kabir
"Having recognized the Lord within, my thoughts rest only in Him.
Now wherever I cast my eyes, I see none else but Him.
... Since realization came, here, there, everywhere the Lord alone I see"

My friend, this body is His lute.
He tightens the strings and plays its songs.
If the strings break and the pegs work loose, this lute, made of dust, returns to dust.

You do good for us, but we do not see it as good;
You are kind and compassionate, forever and ever.
You are the Giver of peace, the Primal Lord, the Architect of Destiny;
please, save us, Your children!

Hey Gutso,

Frankly enough if you made fun of Christianity (I am Christian btw) I couldn't care less... I have heard many and they really don't effect me.

But I can understand if it does hurt someone. When I tell joke on a Sardar I do not do it hurt the feelings of any Sikh or question Sikhism in general. That is where the question of "intend" arises, if the joke is said in good faith with laughter being the only intention I dont think it should matter. You are open to disagree with me.

Regards .
