Browser won't launch
Hey puys. For some reason Firefox 3 won't launch on my comp. It doesn't even show as a background process. It just doesn't launch. I downloaded Opera and am facing the exact same problem. Now am forced to bear IE :sarcasm:
Any pointers as to what may be the problem?

1->Open ur Windows in 'SAFE MODE' and try uninstalling Firefox and Opera..
then again install both of them...
2-> Or else u can just open windows in ' Last good configuration known' ...!
I had the same problem last week... and i solved the same with ' Last good configuration known' feature in XP...

Post them here, will give it a look, May get lucky
Now, To my Queries:
1. I use 'utorrent' to download tv series episodes. I need to know 'How to get utorrent to start itself when my PC is rebooted' ?
2. Also, this may sound ridiculous to ask but what the heck...
I usually leave my PC on for the download to continue the whole day but sometimes as I am about to leave, the light goes off ....Now is there a way by which I could make sure that my PC starts itself when the light comes?
3. Also, I use this BSNL connection and whenver I start my PC (from hibernation or reboot), I always have to Dial the Connection (Broadband) to start the net. isn't there a way by which I as soon as the PC starts the net dials in automatically ??? (well, thats the case at my ofice)...

Ummm not that I can think of. You need someone to press the power button to boot the computer (laptops too). I know of some inverters (like APC) which should have an option - though none of them are reliable.

Well you could try putting the dial up in your startup. There may be an option to start dialing as soon as the window is opened. Also, there is an option to keep dialing - in case there is some problem and the connection drops. The dialer will dial until it connects.
As far as your office, even though they have a modem, they might be having a DSL which doesnt require you to dial. I have one at home and its awesome. Works like the LAN connection
Cheers.

Keep your comp on for download the whole night, instead of whole day. Night time is when the Electricity Board very rarely cuts the power, so most of the days you should be safe. Also, a 7 hour download in the night will give you enough data that you can watch for at least 2 hours. if you still want to keep it for download during the day, you can use the inverter.
though they say that its not safe, but still What the Heck

Man! I had typed in such a long post, clicked on "Submit Reply" and there it went to the login screen again. :bad-word: I am on Internet Explorer as I dont have Firefox on this computer and Back would not help now. And, I had logged in to Pagalguy, seems that it logged me out because it took me quite a while to type in this long a reply. :bad-word: I am not typing it all again now.

Ouch... I disagree dude... Bose marketing IMO is quite sad, they are a niche brand not meant for the regular consumer.... its meant for the audiophiles, the rich brats and the uber rich NRI's.... :P
Quality of bose is pretty much the best i have experienced and i checked out quite a few brands not only in india but abroad as well....
@egonomist... tested the bose ipod speakers.... they are something else altogether... tiny to look at and they blast crystal clear music... my cousin had it in the states and while i was there, i checked em out... of course, one can't expect super bass and all but for the size, yes they were awesome.... overpriced, yes definitely but sound quality trumps most other docks i have seen!!
 Cheers

Well, Here's the next set:
1. There is this BSNL's 500 plan in which download is free from 2-8 a.m. And at that time speed comes around 170-200 kbps. But ofcourse, for that you have to stay awake for 2 a.m. Just wantd to knwo if there any software which coould make utorrent start the download on its own?
2. Is Firefox better than IE? Somebody who uses it, can you please tell me why is Firfox better (Heard so form a lot a of peo0le).
3. The font of everything (like the list at the top of the page which has MBA orums, FAQ etc are coming in Liliput style and I didn;t do anything really. How to get it back to normal?
4. In any internet conn. we take ( apart from the Unlimited one), there is a download limit (like 4 the 500 plan its 1.5 gb), now, Is the surfing expense (don't have a better word) different for different sites and how do I keep record of how much is used (apart form the BSNL website).
Thats all (For now)
