get in touch with a stock broker or sub broker..with live online trading, u can get to see the BSE/NSE indices. but the problem is going to be of infrastructure, u cant use a 128/256 kbps connection to display live trading; these brokers use dedicated satellite links. or..u can also contact websites like www.sharekhan.com for some info.

believe me, u'll use up that 500MB in just one night and if u get hooked, u will curse download limits of any sort

or..u can ping me for any kinda www links under the sun..music/movies/books etc.

sify's servers r a big prob.. it goes dwn at the most crucial moment.. ie wen i hav to submit the project next mornin and i start workin at night.. at that point no one can help me.. this is somethg which bothers me the most..
i m not a download freak.. so dnt require too much of MB.. 400 MB pm is more than sufficient for me..
wat i m lookin for is good service..

If you do not download much stuff from the Internet, then go for MTNL (if it is available in your area). MTNL is surprisingly good when it comes to reliability. I am not too sure about Tata Indicom, but I heard Net connectivity is pretty good from Indicom Walky. You have to decide what speeds u want, if 144 kbps is good enough then even a Walky will be good. You have to take a decision depending upon your Usage, Speed and Download requirements. You can also stick to Sify and have a Backup for critical conditions (like ur good old Dial up connection or a Data Cable in your GPRS enabled mobile).

[PS: Try Airtel Broadband also, I heard it is the best in town]

one of the reasons why i ferreted out a service with a 1.5 GB download limit per month and free downloads for 10 hours a day

Hey buddy! just pic any P2P and start the party, there are loads of it. u can try Shareazza, its going nice for me, and unlike Kazaa there are not many fake downloads or virus.

bittorrent was good... but then all the major torrent sites were wipedout.
suprtorrent etc.

here's what i'm hooked on right now...
1. DC++
Good sw for niche downloads. It has hubs with a minimum share sys.
example - im a guitarist. I rarely find good text files, vids etc.
On dc++ there are dedicated guitar hubs with Loads of stuff.
no spyware

2. Limewire... good p2p sw.
as far as i know, it does not have spyware.
what i like abou this is that it can limit speed of download or upload

Well am a movie buff, and shareazza works okay for me, dint try DC++, howz the treasure for divX movies over there?
Limeware is o.k.a.y... , u dont have a consistent b/w in it, so opted for Sh instead. Sahi yaar, torrent was a gud one, but its no longer in top searches.
i started with Kazza and hell !!! its just so irritating:x
