If you are looking for a long term relationship, there are three aspects you need to give some thought

1. What are the chances you might want to do it with this female? Given
- you will be reporting to her,
- she will be earning more than you,
This is o'course in addition to your list of requirements - compatibility, blah, blah, blah.

2. What are the chances she might be looking for a long term reln with you? From the little I know abt women - very few would want to get into a long term reln with a guy who is not at par with her if not better - careerwise, pay wise, etc. But yeah - some women have the courage and willingness to take a different stance if required.

3. If both of the above work in favour of the reln, you guyz will surely have probs - working in the same team. Most probably one of you will have to change the team or the company - is it possible? Are you guyz ready to do that?

The point in proactive thinking here is - the stakes are high. You have a lot to loose if you act without this excercise - I'm sure you realize that.

I second deepthi...

Your ex-mate now your PM. Good
Dude kuch sikho us se.Woo PM ban gayi and tum Lead hi

Wait for sometime. Work hard and leave her behind and then ask her. Atleast she should have no reason to reject.

And next time let her start this thread.

Depends----
short term affair-
Go ahead if ur boss is cool with it.One of the issues is do u keep it under cover or be open in the office about it.I dont think many bosses would be game to the second option.
Can b in a dilemma at times of appraisal, promotion, etc.
If u are clear that this is all for time-pass and u can keep it under wraps,go for it.(tumhara bhi yahi idea tha na? )

Is it going to be long term?? If so u have to be really serious and understand the entire situation.Or else life can be seriously.....

Both of u working at the same place,24*7 can be boring.
Wife as a boss as someone mentioned can hurt some people's ego in the long run.
(i dont understand how?? If I have a wife who earns more than i do,I would take her to dinner, and sweetly suggest that I need to spend more time looking after the house)

Spend time observing ur boss(dont stare too loong) ,find out what she feels about you.Does she give ghaas?? If so,take one step at a time.

Thanks so much for those precious inputs... Not sure how many people here have gone through such situations.

At th moment, it is only a very short term fling. I really haven't thought of long term relationships as yet. Only a delay policy will help. But, professionally, I have better chances of racing ahead over next 2 years.

There is always room at the top.
