That one is funny. It reminds me of the good ol' kiddy times, when we played gully cricket and made our teams by choosing two captains first and then tossing the coin to choose the players one by one. If a guy had some problem with the captain, he may refuse to play with him, resulting in either his expulsion, or a 'bowing' down to his demands!
Wish it were so simple!
Andy mate, the auction is going to be held for the players, but the players would have no say in whose team they want to play - absolutely NONE! So it is more like, take it or buzz off!
Personally I hope the de facto versus ipso facto scenario doesnt arise, and if u look at it from business perspective, between a Ranji player from Mumbai and a Ranji player from Delhi, of similar talent for t20, why would Ambani want to buy the Delhi player - would make logical sense to buy the Mumbai guy, so that the crowds can relate to it.
Or atleast I hope so!

Good one mate
iSport - my website - is soon gonna have an online sports quiz, shall tell you, (and others), hopefully should be fun.
Gilchrists just got out to Sreesanth, caught by Dhoni...off the webbing of the keeping gloves, I wonder whether our mate, Sunil Gavaskar would comment on the same...something that he keeps harping about - amongst the other million and others he bores us about.

Hayden: Harbhajan Singh is an obnoxious weed.
While I accept that Harbhajan Singh may border upon being called a pest or irritating, Matt Hayden is no Mahatma Gandhi himself. According to Hayden, he called Bhajji a bad boy which was being interpreted as mad boy by the latter. Bhajji complained about this to the umpires and out comes Hayden with this obnoxious statement.
Isn't it really derogatory to call someone an obnoxious weed? I mean, even if you do not take the meaning of a weed in the truest sense of the word, the whole phrase just sounds too derogatory for someone not to take exception to it.
Then we have a Mr. Symonds come out with the statement that he never provoked Ishant Sharma, he said well bowled mate. Hmmm...the probability of that happening is high as finding sea in Delhi or a Ganguly basher in Kolkata. So Symonds now has rubbed the wrong sides of Sreesanth, Harbhajan and Ishant Sharma.
We could make a betting game out of this. Who's Australia's next target, more specifically Symmo's? My bet is on Robin Uthappa, his last innings may just be a threat to the Aussies...Anyone else 'game'?

"Over the next days Ponting would do well to tear up his contract with the Indian Premier League and book some time at his favourite Sydney golf club. The last thing Ponting needs is more cricket.
The contract fee of $400,000 he would have to surrender would be worth it for the peace of mind he cannot get at the moment."
-Robert Craddock in The Daily Telegraph
I think I have now read enough of him to believe that he is a good writer

All of a sudden no cricket, no Aussie media to read about, no nothing. If I can feel the anti climax, Dhoni was right in pointing out what the Aussie media wud be thinking about!
And the next series is still some time away - unfortunately in India itself. After watching the coverage in Australia, it wud be a difficult job adjusting to Neo Sports, and the slow and low turners.
Ganguly and Dravid waiting to claw back...and their first step would be through their performances in the Tests, and with SA having played some matches in Bangladesh, they would have got used to our pitches a little.
Tests should be fun!
