Different ways a match has been stopped - 23-01-2004, 01:23 AM

Hey guys...
Just found out some real bizzare ways a match could be stopped..
Have a look

1975 (June) snow stopped play between Derbyshire and Lancashire.
1889 pig stopped play by running across the cricket field.
1936 A sparrow stopped play. The ball hit it in mid-flight and killed it. It is now an exhibit at Lord's.
1957 a hedgehog stopped play and had to be carried off by the wicket keeper.
1957 a mouse stopped play, it's schoolboy owner ran onto the field to recapture it with his cap.
1962 bees stopped play, players fled to the pavilion to escape..

And India Pull it out in the last over today against Zimbabwe.
These matches are going damn close nowadays..
And Laxman Adds to my belief that he is the best player in the world right now...And will soon overtake sachin in the number of centuries if he keeps going this way...
Three cheers for the Indian Team...
Hip Hip Hurray.......

Trivia Q... from a quiz in my college recently:

Brett Lee has two nicknames in the Aussie team. One is "Bing". What is the other nick and explain its origin.
Hint: Airport in NY.

Ya someone like Akhtar...
But Irfan Pathan is good yaar...:-)
He has got such good swing and just need to get some pace...
Let us see about Munaf Patel...Heard he is as fast as Lee.. (not sure about if its true..)

Well we are also short of quality spinners....After Bhajji and Kumble (who i dont feel will continue his good tour for long) we dont have a quality spinner...

Still India is atleast giving good entertainment with these close matches...(But I waste my whole day watchin matches... :( Cant help it...)
Cheers...

Boss I must admit you are a genius... You answer most of the questions i asked...
The Answers of the one u couldnt.
The reason for allowing only two playes on the aquare leg was BODYLINE bowling..
The only captain with number 5 jersey was Hansie Cronje.

Hey is the answer to your question Saed Anwar??
