OK, here go two more:

1. Which former TEST cricketer (Hint: he was a one-day specialist) had the option of representing his country in the World Cup of another sport and which sport was it?

2. Who is the fastest present South African Test cricketer over a 100-meter sprint?

Second one, I guess is a bit obscure, but anyway.

Re: Cricket Trivia and Discussions.. - 27-02-2004, 02:06 AM

Came across this poem on the internet today..

A-Z Cricket Poem
Accurately bowled, the bowler

Bounced up and down appealing loudly

"Catch it!" shouted the captain

"Daddy, please can I have a lolly?" said Molly

Exceptional catch

Fast bowling wins the match

Greedy batsman getting more runs

"Howzat!" screamed the Indian bowler

In the pavillion Mrs Parker preparing scrumptious cakes

Jumped as high as he could

Kicked the ball to the bowler

Licked the ball to make it as shiny as the sun

Madly appealing

Not out

OUT OUT OUT OUT ! yelled the crowd

Placed the ball by the batsman for 6

Quarrelled to the bowler

Rudely the bowler stared in the batsman's face

"Score quickly!" shouted the captain

Time for tea

Umbrellas come out - it's raining

Very heavy rain flooded the ground

Where's the umpires? They should be out now

eXamining the light meter. It's too dark

Yellow shirts worn by Australians

Zoomed up close by the camera

Cam across some reall trivia on the net again.

Q)1 On 443* and with one day to go in a 1st class match, Bhausahib Nimbalkar (India) needed just 10 more runs to beat the then record (452*-Bradman) but was unable to play on the last day.........

Does anyone know the reason why????

Q2)When was the first Test match held and between which teams??

Q3)Who was the oldest player on test debut??

Becoz the captain of the other team went in for the drinks break and refused to come out to bowl. He was some bloody king... After some time, the organizers and the players were pleading with him to come out and bowl, but he said NO. Hearing this, Bradman, who was the then record holder (452), sent him a message asking him to bowl, but still no response. Finally, Nimbalkar's teammates requested him to bowl only for 5 mnutes, during which Nimbalkar cud break the world record, but another big No!
