Need details for Cricket Umpire Exam - 13-09-2006, 08:44 PM

Hi All,
I'm planning to take the Umpire Exam.I'm residing in chennai.Can someone please help me on the following

1.Details regarding the test like selection procedure,pattern of the test.
2.Any classes conducted in and around Chennai.


Any pointers in this regards is most welcome

I thought 3rd umpires were the future and dont think they need an exam to pass to sit in front of TV! Just kidding.... ATB!

u ought to get in touch with some one givin official word about the exam, meaning frm BCCI or the local cricket association!! u could start by umpiring in clubs and then move from there!!

but as such havent heard of any coaching institutes regarding this!! plus i think once u are selected in the exam, the BCCI trains u!!

I think the exam is conducted once a year, in February. (It was until a few years ago. Dont know how it works now).
You might need to buy the BCCI rule book. I might be available in the Madras Cricket Club.
