If there was no Pagalguy... - 09-05-2006, 05:07 PM

Well, I am sure, that even the mere sight of that title would have brought shivers down the spine of most of uall!

But I was just wondering, that what if, such a thing were to really happen?

If, God forbid, Pagalguy had to shut down(err..sorry Mav, PG and the others! :(), or probably, some of us puys, with Work ex, had a company web filter on this site(as I have on most of my cricket sites!) or any such natural or man-made disasters occurred! Kya karte hum?

The first thought that came to my mind was, I would spend more time on cricket! But wait, the whole of the time that I spend on PG is on the cricket sites wonly! Where would the cricket quizzes come from then!?

There would be no cricket threads for starters, meaning, ChetanNarula would not have been able to "drill" down in every one's heart that Tendulkar is indeed the best in the world(best batsman, ad man, or something else, dunno!), Kushal would never have been able to ask so many cricket questions, smilingtears would never have been able to help any one of us(and of course Gaurav may have never got nominated by so many people for the awards!), we would never been regaled(!!??) by Chuck_gopal's PJs, and nor would a certain 98tillidie have a fan following comparable with Mav/PG themselves! Bluffmaster may never have bluffed, and Djikstra and Maverick may never have fought!(see, it has a positive too!)...Aarav's math may have never reached our mail boxes, and none of us would have been benefited from destinationsunil's CET gyaan!
well, the list is without boundaries...!
(and I am sorry from the bottom of my hearts to have missed out on the other 60,993 puys, whose names I could not mention! )

I frankly, can not imagine a world without PG, would be like a Bollywood Movie without songs, Chicken Tikka without the Chicken or an Indian Cricket Team without err...alrite, lemme not start another controversy!

Any thoughts on this one mates?!

if there was no pagalguy,,,i would not have gt through IIMI...got lots of gyaan for GD/PI preparation through my friends on PG...sorry mods but this forum also served as a vent for me to take out my frustration when the results were delayed...now as soon as a person asks me for advice about how to prepare for MBA,,,my first advice comes out to be go to pagalguy.com...is a treasure of knowledge to prepare for CAT...

Without PG...hmmm.

The one thing that'll surely happen is we'll all accomplish a significantly better volume of work in office!!

It'll be difficult alright. Its a place where you can just hang around throughout the day and still not want to leave...(Except for the when you've got to go, you've got to go moments)
I have been spending a huge percentage of my waking hours on PG ever since I've joined. And it'll be interesting to see if the start of my 1st term at Lucknow will change anything...and if it does (as it should and will!), just how much?

But, our association with PG and through it, with ourselves, inevitably, must end someday. Like everything else on the planet. Somewhere down the line...we'll have to start contemplating other worlds, have to get married against our better judgement (Don't think you're going to be allowed into your house if continue to get in and log onto PG rightaway...wait, perhaps you could hook your wife onto it as well!!), have to take on more responsibility, have to rethink and re-prioritize our whole concept of life. And maybe, just maybe, PG won't fit into the scheme of things then.

But yes, we'll all try our best not to let it happen...and even when it does happen, continue to pay that occasional friendly visit to the old haunts again. Just to relive the magic...

I'll quote Matrix Revolutions on the way out

'Everything that has a beginning has an end'

Frankly, its an asset in terms of the amount of knowledge u exchange in terms of competitive exams, the major one bein CAT. In its absence, networking with guys, exchanging views, knowledge, mock scores, CAT analysis etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.....whew! Quite a lot of it wud be absent...and MBA preps would go more da 'individual' way!
