Well i appreciate ur point of view there n i think thats what Aspire wanted in the first place........a point of view of an open minded female on the issue! it was not imperative but since u decided to touch topics which have nt been dabbled with as of now, i think can have a take on the same
i would first like to put what i feel about extra marital sex .for me sex is as basic natural urge as hunger which got 2 be quenched at times without getting into the morality side of the issue.so in the absence of my patner around me if i feel the urge of satiating my bilogical needs then probably i wont bottle up what i feel n would rather have a one night stand n move on with my life with my loyalities firmly for my patner. i presume that when u say that ur gona be cool with ur hubby's extra marital sex stints , u mean what i stated above. Howver if u claim that even if ur hubby share the special bond of luv with sum1 else n still that wont perterb u enough!...... then girl probably u got 2 get real!
i respect ur just aspirations 2 be carrer oriented n i believe u shall be what u wanna be but trust me dear........ great carreers can never make up for a bad personal life. also when u reach 2 a stage where u began 2 c urself spending ur entire life with sum1...... the thought of even sharing his/ her luv with sum1 else cms repulsive!
apart from all this i think what u said was gr8 n shows how self assured a women ideally should b with right balance in faith n self belief . kudos for ur stand here!

either ur too naive , or u want to be like ur hubby , frankly I couldnt imagine a gal being ok with a philandering guy ....
maybe this is true to some extent , where the wife , stays on and turns a blind eye to what her hubby is doing as she doesnt have an alternative .....

but yes unkindmonk , is right , what is career for , it is to make us happy and our family happy , i always cared for my love and my family before my career , and i learnt it the hard way that career matters a lot ...
but still for me my wife would come first before career...

I totally agree with aspire.... One can't expect to be totally honest with his/her mate unless one is physically, mentally honest..... and surely no woman who loves her husband can think of letting her husband having even a faint image of another woman.... Offcourse, having a gf or bf is pretty natural thing, but that also has a purpose ideally....

It is to learn more about the opposite sex.... Right from the childhood, we are taught not to correspond with the opp sex and i know it is pretty heavy in Chennai (infact, in a college called Sathyabama, guys and girls are punished if they talk to each other by the teachers)

So u can analyse the kind of uproar that chennai-ites would have made against Khushboo.... I have been in chennai for more than 3 yrs and i know about it quite well.... I am not branding madrasees as hypocrites but the cultural values are pretty odd...

At one place, u can see such meaningless imposition on the students when guys and gals hang out freely outside pubs and coffee-days....

For one moment, if one analyzes what khushboo said, then i don't anyone can say it is wrong.... pre-martial sex is pretty natural as long as it is consensual.... Let me give u a straight example....

Say a boy of 22 and a girl of 18 and half are unmarried, but are in a relation.... would u say it would be wrong for them to have sex today and right for them tomorrow, when they get married.... What will change in 24 hrs? N O T H I N G

One has to be very pragmatic regd these thoughts.... offcourse, one can debate over the fact that the relationship might not be deep and meaningful for them to engage into physical relationship, but aren't the 2 people bright enough to understand that..... I don't think that others have any right to outcast them based on baseless allegations..

As for promiscuousness, i believe that was not what khushboo said....

That is bad bcoz there is no point in engaging in any sort of physical relationship unless u r sure about what u need.... and hence i feel that we should 1st put ourselves in that position where we achieve what u need and then think about whether we want anything further than that, or not.

However, in our country, besides what you do when everyone is looking, a premium is placed upon what you say you are doing!

Personally, I think Khushboo was extremely brave to say what she said, and I totally support her stand. Whatever happened to the damned right to free speech!

What I'm more impressed by is her take on this subject, when she had a very successful show going for her down south, and the reactions that folowed were probably something that she probably anticipated at the beginning (maybe not their intensity)

Personally believe that to each person, his or her own! Why use different standards of moral relativisim for men and women, and hypocritically place a premium upon the virginity of a woman?

IMHO this issue has been blown out of proportions because of the political undertones. To understand the reaction to Khusboo's statement one has to have a picture of the political reality in TamilNadu today. In TamilNadu nearly every sphere of the media from TV,magazines to even cinema is dominated by one political party or the other. It has come to a stage where there is nothing called a neutral media in TamilNadu today. Khusboo has strong affiliations with Jaya TV(which has strong links to AIADMK party) and was favoured to contest the upcoming assembly elections on the AIADMK ticket. So when such a statement came out the oppostion party(DMK,PMK...) jumped on to the bandwagon and amplified the protest what little there was from the common people to a huge extent. They used their monopoly in the television media(Sun TV group) and money power to extract violent reactions. They succeded in that Khusboo was denied an election ticket. TamilNadu has a very conservative society but one that has always coexisted peacefully with the more liberal elements( TN boasts of the highest growth in software sector) and it is the political angle that has shown it in a bad light.
