i dont see this present bunch of players winning any major silverware ...though i hope capello can prove me wrong...

even though they are the biggest achievers at club stage...they dont perform at national level...i dnt know how....motivation?...talent?

atleast the defenders can certify as among the best in the world...
Joker, thats precisely what England were doing wrong earlier....they used to take the under dogs team too lightly.....remember the croatia fiasco...and the last gasp win in WC against Trinidad I guess..!!

I would be very happy indeed if they considered every match as a Euro semi final..we know that all the English lads are hurting bad inside...some comments by Rio, Stevie and Terry have amply shown that..!!

I would bet on England for WC 2010....1st comes revenge time against Croatia..!!

Ahemmm....someone forgot the Robot man....Peter Crouch...he has scored many an important goals for England in recent times....I feel Owen has lost out on pace and hence should be used only as a substitute..if Owen is given 3 chances, he scores a goal...not good enough for major championships..!!!

Rooney,Crouch,Owen,Defoe ( pompey move has done him good..!!) and maybe Dean Ashton....Its high time Bent is sacked now....he has scuffed enough chances..!!

In the mid field, I agree only one of Lampard n Gerrard can play....they get into each others way.....Gerrard and Barry would make a great central midfield pair...!!

On the right wing, DB1 and DB2 ( the protege ) along with SWP should do well....on left wing, we have Joe Cole...Stevie G too started on left wing last match...!!

Defence is where England is spoilt for choices....ample resources here..!!

And then we have people who can change matches in a second..ppl like Theo Walcott...loved his goal against Liverpool in UCL...!!

So, the future indeed looks bright..!!

Ah England the harsh mistress who has a lot of promise but runs away before making it to the aisle.

I find it really disappointing that England doesnt win as many as it could considering that some of the best players in the world are from England.

Rooney definitely plays better as a second man and the midfield certainly cant have Gerrard and Lampard playing together. The wings seems to be well covered - Cole,Young, Bentley, Downing. How come no one mentioned SWP (my guess Chelsea sell him off). And how does Barry figure?

Was always confused how Barry would fit into the team.

My guess : Cole - Barry - Gerrard - Young??

Which wing does Downing play on? Moreover doesnt Agbonlahor qualify as a front man?

Damn England ruined the Euro for me.

Germany wins this hands down.

Cheers.

LMAO!!! Howlarious!!! This is great stuff from 2 Scousers.
Read on:

Cheeky Scouse builders Brian and Gary Greer have revealed they hid a Liverpool FC shrine under Gary Neville's new swimming pool.

The pair built the Manchester United star's new pool and have revealed they buried a club fanzine, a match programme and a Liverpool scarf in a plastic tube before tiling over the top of it and filling in the pool.

any tiff aside , mancini is someone who commands the respect of the players and the fans alike.

this is a la del bosque situation , altough this sacking came a little late , i dont think inter are doing any themselves any favours by 'taking out' someone as experienced as mancini.

we all know what happened to madrid after the departure of del bosque! i dont care if inter follows suit , but this IMO is just a sciatic nail in their damn coffin!

Mancini's situation is not comparable to Del Bosque's.

He had lost respect of a lot of players. You can say a good number had turned against him. He had the respect of fans but a lot of it can be attributed to the fact that he was a great player few years back. He lost a lot of that respect after the Liverpool game when he said he would quit. He went back on that statement later but had dug his own grave then. The team had lost all direction since the turn of the new year. Since Jan, Inter's pereformances have been very poor and in the end they just managed to win the Scudetto.

Experience? Not really. He is only about 45 years old and has a lot to learn still. His longest tenure has been at Inter itself. And 4 years is not a short tenure for a manager today.

He did a good job at the club but most of it was about organizing it and clearing the mess. Tactically he has been poor and really didn't grow much in the past few years.

I think this is great news for Inter albeit at a price. His time was clearly over and the team was heading nowhere. A change was required. I am very sure next year Inter would be fighting for a CL spot if Mancini stayed. Not because he isn't good, but his time here was up.

As for calling Moratti intellectual, I can say he isn't the smartest because he works with his heart and not mind. No other club owner at the moment has even a percent of passion for his club as Moratti has. I was afraid this time he could relent and give Mancini another chance but thankfully he didn't.

Mourinho has apparently signed for Inter for 3 years. This news should be confirmed soon.

i had a completely different perspective about things , but then , your post was complete in all respects regards the substantiate reasoning that you've incorporated.

its pretty evident that you're well read about the happenings , and so its fair play to you

i'm still not sure about jose's ability to manage those big stars. he had none at porto , and had none at chelsea when he took over the reigns!

being charismatic ( there's a fine line between acting cute and looking stupid) in front of the camera is only a small part in trying to chain your job.

i'm really not sure about jose's 'longetivity' at inter!

regards
