People can create their part. A few footie vids along with some of theirs answering questions...

For example: Best player.. i answer and it cuts to zidane...

We can give everyone different questions and then make the order random like rockball answer 2; sumit answer 1; swagat answer 5; alagati answer1; sumit answer 2; rockball answer 1...................

Make it and upload it on rapidshare...

also, as and when each person comes on screen, the persons real name and the position he or she plays...

Also we can also make a foootie team among ourselves.. And then 2 of us meet and have a tiger telestrator of our team..

just some suggestions

It's a marathon, not a sprint. Unless you're Man Utd, in which case you let the other teams get ahead and then start sprinting as they all fall apart.

Re: Football Club - 10-05-2008, 01:36 AM

Been awhile since i posted here but my tuppence:

1. All these reasons about WHY United could potentially lose at Wigan is absolute wishful thinking. In reality, barring a catastrophe it should be a cakewalk for United, and even as a Chelsea supporter I have to say it'll be well deserved on them. If the league were decided on overcoming adversity then it'd be Chelsea all the way, but purely on 90 min games on the pitch, Utd were far and away the best side in England this season.

2. All this talk about this being the closest season ever blah blah is nothing but media-driven hype IMO. True, no PL title has ever been decided on GD but in my eyes, this has NOT been a close season at all. A close season would be when two or more sides have been battling neck and neck for long periods with the top position changing every few weeks. This season, barring Arsenal occassionally flattering to deceive, everyone could see United would win out at the end, even when Arsneal were ahead of them. Chelsea were the only real threat, but with all the problems, have only caught up too late. Sir could actually afford to drop full points to his nearest rivals by fielding a weakened team at the Bridge so as to ensure a CL final berth - not something which indicates a close league battle! As far as I'm concerened SAF has been in full control of league position throughout, and this hasn't been as close a season as the pundits would have us believe.

If the impossible does happen and Wigan manage to get something out of this Sunday and the title goes to the Blues that way, well all I will say is Chelsea have fluked it, but really it doesn't matter to me if they win both or win nothing this season...as a fan, I couldn't have asked any more of them - they've already overachieved given all the problems and this season I'm one helluva a proud Blue!...oh well, i'll stop here - will leave the end of season emo glowing testimonial, for Chelsea and Real Madrid, for after the 21st night!

ps: Arsenal! What are they doing!! Wenger develops average players into world class players and then other big clubs swoop down and take advantage of his hard work!

ps2: Liverpool midfield of next year, both attacking and defensively

ps3: Hope Fulham stay up - their revivals been nothing short of miraculous but unfortunately the draw is against them :-|

ps4: Deco and Eto'o purposeful yellows

ps5: Barca players applauding Real Madrid onto the pitch

ps6: 4-1!

@anvesh: just finished reading el diego...thanks for the suggestion man - well worth a read! Totally fresh and honest from the greatest footballing mind of all time!

@sumit: what would prompt anyone to leave this thread! :eh:

I was away on another holiday so couldn't post, but even for people with busy schedules, i think it only takes 15 mins or so to read previous post and write one of your own and even one a day is enough methinks...

that being said, the video idea is fantastic - I would like to have the choice for 2 defenders please!

Re: Football Club - 10-05-2008, 02:44 AM

I totally respect everyone's views about Chelsea as a team. But when I hear people complain about Chelsea not playing attractive football like Man Utd and hence don't deserve to win, It really grinds my gears....

As a counter argument....I say this.....

"A win is a win."

Should we take away Floyd Mayweather's WBC title just because his fights are boring?

:baaa:

Some more random rebuttals....

Criticism about Chelsea being a rigid machine is baseless, we play long ball (and not short "creative" passes like Man Utd) is because Chelsea players are good in air. Each team plays according to its strengths. Next season we might see a "creative" Chelsea and a "boring" United. Who knows?

And criticism about Roman's money are also half wrong. Mourhino made it public that he doesn't want Shevvy, Ballack and Robben in his team. He eventually left due to conflict of interest with the owner. Roman doesn't understand that the best footballers don't make the best team, but give him a break, he'll learn. If you wanna blame someone, blame Roman, don't blame Chelsea FC

XLence is everything, rest is just IIMmaterial

Blue is the colour, football is the game
We're all together, and winning is our aim
So cheer us on through the sun and rain
'cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name

Shame. :( Another victim....

well can't say i don't understand though...i myself used to post here much before but had to take about a year and half's hiatus from this thread for my masters, before returning few months back...good luck anyway, u'll need it!

@Seeds: couldn't agree more mate!
One more observation over this season - with so much money and pressure in the game these days, I've realized so called 'beautiful, attractive' football gets you absolutely nowhere. It'll only work against lesser teams but against world-class defenders and tactics when push comes to shove, slick one-touch football, of the Arsenal and Barca type, is risky because of the difficulty in executing it - no one can pull it off all the time and one is likely to lose possession sooner or later when trying it and if caught out, quality opposition will make you pay.

Examples:

1. Real Madrid's Galacticos won absolutely nothing, but look at the present side which are more functional than anything else - two la ligas on the trot..against an attractive barca side consisting of eto'o, henry, messi, ronaldinho, deco etc.

2. United supposedly played boring, defensive football against a flamboyant Barca, but who's in the final and who's out?

3. Chelsea's physical play in both PL and CL. While Chelsea did try attacking style a few times with success, two of them were against Villa (started with Kalou, Pizzaro, J.Cole AND Shevchenko in 4-2-4 almost , and against Spurs, and both ended up 4-4....great matches to watch for the neutrals but not so good for Chelsea!

4. Arsenal-Liverpool 2nd leg...exemplifies how risky attractive football can be against quality oppossition.

The way to win it seems these days, fortunately or unfortunately, is a physical, safety first (typified by Chelsea), and counter-attack style (typified by Real Madrid and ManUnited).

p.s. Grant named manager of the month for April ...over the past couple of weeks, he's made a convert out of a non-believer in me! Though I still have this nagging doubt that its more JT's captaincy and Ten Cate and Steve Clark's contributions than Grants work..oh well, will trust the experts and give deserved kudos to Grant...will be sad to see him move upstairs. :-|

Tapan, I agree. Look at Arsenal. Playing 'creative' football got them a shiny, clean empty trophy cabinet, didn't it? I'd say Chelsea play effective football. And when Joe Cole and Essien play (at their regular positions), they can be lethal with their creativity. Drogba, when he is not diving around, can be really really creative. Ballack has shown that his name is spelt with 'a's and no 'o's. (Sorry, but this one is culled from a funny pic that SRK had posted. No offence, huh?).

As I was discussing with Swagat and a few other Blues a couple of days back, Chelsea have done really well. United have the tactical brilliance of SAF behind them, so they are a strong team backed by a strong manager. Chelsea, on the other hand, have a dimwit for a manager. They have won most of their games despite him, not because of him.

And kudos to them, for not crumbling after Mourinho's departure, and taking the EPL race to the last day of the championship.

But that type of football has higher pay-offs as well. I doubt 3 years down the line..many would recall the current Madrid side..but the Barca side of 2 years ago..is sure to be remembered.
