Re: Football Club - 13-04-2008, 10:50 PM

what a match!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
united deserves to win....
in fact united always looked likely to score at both ends..
and i've got something to say to fabregas F*&^ OFF (remember his celebration after arsenal scored equaliser at emirates) and united answered in best way possible beating Arsenal in FA cup 4-0 and then ending their title hopes
and aresnal is going to be fined for their 6 yellow cards...
liverpool virtually sealed their 4th place with their win over blackburn, who by the way looked pathetic today....

Re: Football Club - 13-04-2008, 11:05 PM

Today is the day for simplicity. So I'll just put forward eveything pointswise.

1. Adebayor couldn't score for nuts. Tried his left foot, right foot, head. finally he got bored and used his hand. It was almost like he was protesting an offside and used his head and hand to put United out of their 1st half misery.

2. People will again point out that Ronaldo did not turn up. Well, look at that penalty and it justifies his position. Under pressure, to be retaken and he whacks it.

3. Hargreaves you beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. All Arsenal fans, no disrespect, will whinge again and say they were the better team and deserved to win. Well, in the first half they were. But for every chance that Adebayor and Bendtner missed, rooney missed 3 one on ones with Lehman (Lehman.. did I say Lehman!! surely Wenger would not have picked him to play the most important match of the season with his least utilissed player?? but he did and I thought he did quite well)

5. Also, if Arsenal keep giving away leads as if they were Derby, against all the big teams (United, Chelsea, Liverpool) despite playing better, there is a serious need for introspection...

Thats all for now, folks... back to the booze...

Re: Football Club - 13-04-2008, 11:15 PM

I am really short of words and high on booze

actually i was sitting with united and arsenal fans at pebble street, new friends colony, delhi... we were approximately 80 supporting in ratio of 55:25 in favour of united... atmosphere was electric...

constant jibes were thrown... I say united were a bit slow to start... arsenal dominated the first half but adebayor (i think he forgot his shooting boot headgear)... I dont think he was a good chance to conversion ratio (same with rooney.. but rooney work rate is majestic)

Second half... that wasnt a goal from adebayor... for if i am wrong correct me..

Penalty was clear as they come... and who else then mr. gallas (he seems to contributing on both ends for arsenal)... ronaldo as always cool under pressure dispatched it...

Hargreaves has really shaken up things in just two matches... peach of a free kick... you swirling beauty... I am elated... now it will go down as one of the biggest screw ups if we dont win BPL from here..

Ciao..
Kris

Re: Football Club - 13-04-2008, 11:15 PM

Sometimes I feel, football should also have a 20-20 format, where a match lasts for only 20 minutes. And somehow, that feeling becomes much stronger when the Gunners are playing. They rule the game in the first one-third, and completely give it up in the last fifteen minutes.

Another thing they remind me of is an automatic carbine, which is deadly not because of its accuracy, but because of its rate of fire. The law of averages says that if you take many shots, one of them is likely to go in. A couple of the missed shots were sitters, even your mum could've scored!! Listening Mr. Adebayor?

P.S. Gunners' fans, no offence meant, but I really feel Arsenal didn't give 110% today. Sometimes 100% is not quite enough - against a lesser team, maybe, but any of the big 4, NO!

Re: Football Club - 13-04-2008, 11:21 PM

Oh and I forgot to add.

6. United wanted to contribute to the Arsenal cause. They couldn't put the ball past Lehman, so they were trying ther luck with Van Der Sar. 2 great saves from Brown and Ferdi by VDS.

Re: Football Club - 13-04-2008, 11:43 PM

Elated, to say the least.

To beat the gunners is fine, to end thier season, feels so awesome. United showed they are true champions, and deserved the win. My man of the match was definately adebayor, for united. Love that guy, hope he plays his career out at arsenal, along with Eboue.

So delighted, cant wait to meet my gooner friends!

Were winning the league now, and i hope we do it by ending Chelseas record at the bridge. Who do I hear? Barcelona? Chelsea? Bring em on!

I can almost hear the CL 99 final commentary, this is thier year!

PS: Hargreaves fantastic. VDS, fantastic. I thought ferdinand and Brown tried better shots than Adebayor. Ronaldo, 2 penalties, same corner, both times keeper goes the right way, both times no chance. Need i say more!

...all my fellow red devils. Glory Glory Man United!

Re: Football Club - 14-04-2008, 12:48 AM

:neutral::(

United 2 - 1 Arsenal

Yes its officially all over for us... A must win game for the us.. and we screwed it up...again...

And come on.. give us a break.. we were easily the better team on the pitch...
We had more chances, and more shots on goal (yes ferdinands chance included)..
Its been this way for arsenal since the last 2 seasons now.. we've played great football.. just havnt been scoring.. and ya our defence sucks... not the first time gallas has given away a penalty..

Ronaldo had an average game today... he almost never seems to come good against the top teams.. hardly heard his name in the entire game...
walcott didnt have much of an impact either.. evra closed him well ...

coming to the goalkeepers.. lehman to be fair didnt do bad at all... van der sar stopped everything as usual...

looking forward to next season..

btw.. all arsenal fans should check out this site.. www.arseblog.com .. another hardcore gooner...

thats all from my side..
cheers

Re: Football Club - 14-04-2008, 03:19 AM

Another thing that I'd like to add is that accurate passing, more possession, or more attempts at goal, may not mean a 'better' performance than the other team. If you have 6 chances to score, and convert 1, whereas the other team has 2, and converts both, I'd rate the latter higher. I've enjoyed watching the Gunners on many occasions, but I think they really need to rotate their players more often. Arsenal games have been following a predictable pattern - they dominate 20-30 odd minutes, and completely fizzle out in the last 15. Yes, unfortunate long-term injuries to Eduardo and Rosicky have not helped their cause, but then, that's hardly an excuse. Rafa may be criticized by some for his rotation policy, but it does work! Although, he does carry it a bit too far, sometimes.

If nothing else, I'd like to see Arsenal showing some spirit, and salvaging their pride from the remaining games. At least give the crowd something to cheer about, some bit of their money's worth!

All said and done, overall the season's been great, and the major challenge remains the relegation zone. I rally wish Birmingham pull through, coz they're a good side. Of course, I won't miss Derby, or even Fulham. But Reading and Birmingham should stay in the League.
