Wayne Wayne Wayne!!!
Stop that crap huh. Not worried about arse-hole !!!! You know, i know......there is simply nothing more to worry about
In 2 yrs time, you will have a team that will be fighting to finish in the top 10. And seriously, you have to be kidding me to expect arse to be a force with the kind of team-building that whinger has been lately executing.
I saw some arse nugget here mention that Arse's best chance lay in UCL. You dumb nitwit , they are up against a team that is hitting form now. Real are no pushovers and this is the Champions League. READ CHAMPIONS!!!!!!
Ok, enuf of arse bashing for the week. Best luck against whoever is next.
Man Utd's midfield woes seem destined to continue till the summer. That is very very bad for us considering 'pool breathing down on us. If fergie can pull of a signing, it will be an amazing coup for us...........but it does seem highly unlikely now.

Hehe ... Wait and watch ..... Wenger has been making astute signings as you will realise soon
As I said..Diaby for one is set to make that Central Midfield role his own in the team...... Just on the basis of the way he played yesterday he is a good signing
Djourou looks comfortable in the Centre Back role and I have a feeling that he will be a good foil for either of Campell/Toure
In other news ...rumours afoot that Arsenal are in the market for Yaya Toure ....seems to be another big and powerful midfielder....and one that we definetly need ... Hope this deal goes through.
Waiting for the next match which will have a stronger Arsenal team......and would definetly like to see Diaby starting
Cheers,
Wayne

Re: Football Club -

It surprises me that Jamie Carragher still doesn’t start for England at center back.
Probably the tag of being just a good old utility “scouser” is what prevents his automatic selection over the other supposedly high profile (or should I say highly profligate?) center backs in England.
A rock at the heart of Liverpool’s watertight defence this season, Carragher is proving to be the premiership’s most consistent and reliable center back (with maybe the exception of the Chelsea duo of Terry & Gallas). A constant source of comfort for his team members Jamie has been keeping some of the premierships most potent goal scorers at bay, allowing the likes of Steven Gerrard and Luis Garcia in Liverpool’s midfield to attack with more freedom and enterprise.
And all this despite being paired with Sami Hyppia who although excellent in the air is now rather old and slow, a fact that Didier Drogba exploited in emphatic fashion in Chelsea’s 4 –1 thrashing of Liverpool, the only time Rafa’s defensive wall failed to hold the opposition.
Maybe this kind of form has come as a vindication of his manager’s decision to allow him to play in his best natural position.
Carragher may not be the quickest in the business and neither does he provide much going forward in terms of goals. But he is certainly one of the best readers of the game. In Liverpool’s stunning European Cup final win last season one should remember that it was Carragher who after a dismal first half, recomposed himself to completely shut out a rampant Shevchenko and the lurking danger of Crespo single-handedly despite a pulled leg muscle.
He is great in the air and rarely gets beaten physically or positionally on a one to one. Although not a cruncher like Puyol or Cordoba, he is an efficient and clean tackler. Versatile and supremely fit he is a rare blend of natural ability honed to perfection by hard work and an immaculate concentration. But what stands out for me is Carragher’s constant commitment to give a 150% to every game he plays week in week out, and to do it blemishlessly without becoming gung ho or too aggressive.
Perhaps the fact that he isn’t as visibly ominous as a Sol Campbell (who probably still is England’s best international central defender but isn’t getting any younger) or isn’t supposedly as imposing a threat in set pieces like Chelsea’s outstanding captain John Terry (who despite being the premiership’s best defender still has to show his best in the international arena) keeps his chances limited.
But Rio Ferdinand? Please. A colossal waste of money on a player who is incapable of concentrating for an entire game. His mistakes are so fundamentally pathetic, they usually lead to goals. And his lack of basic footballing sense in terms of his marking and aerial positioning (Man Utd’s pathetic defending during corners is all too evident) makes me question why everybody keeps saying that he is the best defender in the premiership. And Johnathan Woodgate? A man who can barely last a season without some season ending injury & despite his friendly equation with his Spanish team mates, he is still woefully short of defensive sharpness at Madrid.
Ledley King is a terrific young prospect but needs to mature further defensively and Zat Knight for all his talent is simply too indisciplined. The rest like Brown, Gardner, Riggott and Upson are essentially not international quality yet.
So Sven, if your reading this then please understand that pairing up Terry and Carragher, the premiership’s two best defenders on current form, might just be the perfect decision as you already have a King and a Campbell waiting in the wings (not Ferdinand please). Stop trying to justify playing Carragher and King as utility men so as to make space for other blunders in selection like Rio Ferdinand et all. Stop trying to create a team of stars and rather try to pick up players who can combine to make a star team.
Carragher’s no nonsense, quiet and efficient defending would be the perfect foil for Terry’s robust man to man marking, high quality passing and all round aggression.
The time has come to allow the next breed of England defenders to take over from the Campbells and the Southgates.
Move over Alessandro Nesta, Jamie Carragher might just become the best in the business.

Straengely I wasn't too upset with the Arsenal defeat to Bolton last night....as with the team that was put on display the exit was inevitable. First priority for Arsenal is to stage a come back in the league and Wenger made a tough but good choice.
That said the youngsters on display yesterday were NOT outplayed by Bolton.....It took one good moment from Gardner-Stelios to seal the match but the youngsters of Arsenal were anything but outmuscled
Just to put things in perspective.......Here's some of the Positives
(1) Abou Diaby- I thought he was the best player on display yesterday....He's just joined the squad but was already beginning to dominate the midfield..... He's not afraid of going in for a tough challenge and is just the right ingredient to add spine to the Arsenal midfield.
(2) In the next 2-3 years Arsenal will have one of the best teams playing in the premiership....Players who would just be about 22-24 years but already veterans
Attackers: Reyes,Vela,WALCOTT, Henry, Lupoli, Van Persie, Quincy, Adebayor, Bendtner, Stokes
Midfielders: Fabregas, DIABY, Helb, Flamini, Song, Muamba
Defenders: Senderos, Toure, Djourou, Gilbert, Cole, Clichy, Eboue, Hoyte
Worried ...Not me
Arsenal know that they can never compete with Chelsea when it comes to money.....They are playing a waiting game the results of which will bear fruit soon....and when they do WATCH OUT
Cheers,
Wayne

well said wayne.... i hope so too for arsenals sake coz the bottom line is I LOVE THE WAY ARSENAL PLAY THEIR FOOTBALL....smooth efficient silken football with breathtaking perfection....but it hasnt been working against the chelsea super team off late and so accpeting a no 2 slot aint easy....besides i agree on ur point about thje youngsters, i dunno bout the others but diaby, walcott, fabregas and toure look like real talents.....and i guess a few good signings over the next few yrs will make arsenal wat barca is today....after all barca team is full of home grown talent like messi, puyol, valdes, xavi etc anyways....o and ofcourse they got ronaldnho ronaldinho ronaldinho....

A rock at the heart of Liverpool defence? Very rarely has Liverpool's defence been weak. And it is something about the very nature of the way Liverpool play and have played that almost whoever plays in defence does a good job. ex: Hyppia and Henchoz,....(Before the backpass rule came into play they used to do it all the time once they scored a goal)
So while Carragher is doing his job well, I would argue that whoever plays in centre of defence for Pool does well. (I guess I am making a statement which goes against the way the national teams are picked, where playing for a top team guarantees place in the squad.

Was that mean to be funny? He probably isn't even the best in Arsenal's central defence(at the moment) where Toure is much better.

Yeah but Rio always plays well on the big stage and his reading of the game is much better than any other defender. I admit that he doesn't appear focussed against the small teams but when he is paired with Brown (instead of Carcrash) he plays well. So Rio with a no-nonsense defender is ideally the best partnership.

That would be a disaster as both of them lack pace and inspite of the fact that Cole(the Ashley varitey that is) does have lots of pace but he still would be doing a job further up on the field.
And Rio is much more comfortable on the ball and in bringing the ball up for attack.

You must be dreaming, Carragher just doesn't have the class even though he almost makes up for it in spirit and courage. But it would make more sense playing him rather than terry in the middle of the defense for England if Rio is playing.
And yeah it would have been better if you posted this on the WC thread!

Welcome Aboard!!
It was actually a 2-3 away victory at arse with Harte, Kewell and Viduka scoring the goals. The goal by Harte was an absolute screamer of a free-kikk.
Viduka out-muscled the whole goon defense singlehandedly.... that was an awesome game, real real high tempo even by EPL's relativly high standards.
Leeds right now are third in the CocaCola championship, but the position is definatly not as promising as it looks, they are still off balance in financial terms and will find it hard to find feet, this provided they spin their way around that 3rd spot jinx.
The club need to either, Get a long term plan in place or they should find a wealthy owner, thats the only way they can cope with that debt.

You moron, comparing Barca with arse is like comparing a primorde with an android.
Barca have spent soo much money on Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Guily, Deco that arse probably have not spent in last 10 years and will not do for next 20 either.
