Hi fellow football fans !

Well it'll definitely be adventurous of me to say we ( Arsenal ) will be title contenders but surely just because City is assembling a studded line-up , doesn't mean there is gonna be a change in the top four ! I'll say that City will do well to come upto fifth place !

Cheers !

Hey guys, I've been a lurker for a while and since my CAT journey has begun today with the first SimCAT, I thought I'd pop in and say a quick hello.

Massive United supporter here, have been following the trials and tribulations of our glorious club ever since that night in Barcelona in '99.

You guys will hear a lot from me in this section over the next few months :P

Re: Football Club - 26-07-2009, 11:47 PM

all of you arsenal fans ..this is for you .. though I am a barca fan all over ..

barcelona had gone trophy less for no less than 6 years until Ronaldinho spun his magic and took to the club to la liga victory and then that glorious night in paris .. now where does arsenal fit in ? they are in the team building stage (must be sounding a cliche by now), a style not that different from barca and have gone 4 years without a trophy now .. so, my prediction for premier league this year .. a bold one ..a top two finish for arsenal ..

^ There's only a slight fallacy in your analogy - and that is Arsenal have no Ronaldinho. And they are about to lose Toure as well. So unless Wenger can make a couple of astute signings, they might not even finish in the top four let alone the top two.

well guys,
another shocker from transfer window. barcelona getting ibramovich by swapping Eto+40 million euros+1 yr loan for hleb . this is a very poor deal indeed.Do you guys think that zlatan is worth that much money?? what the hell is barcelona upto?? this is too much for an average striker who has a very poor record in europe.

That is absolutely shocking. Ibra has a reputation of being a bottler - can't exactly recall but I think he's never scored in a knockout round of the CL. Although I've seen him score some magical goals he has a poor tendency to miss sitters more often than not.

Barca have certainly got the short end of the stick here - Eto'o always guaranteed them 20-25+ goals a season, with Ibra you can never say what you're going to get.

Ibra deal for barca looks really shocking .. Eto'o was so very consistent ..maybe barca wanted desperately buy a striker ..if not, villa then ibra ..or myabe eto'o wanted to leave nou camp at any cost ..so guardiola had to buy a striker in that case ..

still ibra was instrumental in inter's serie a victories over the past few years .. imagine what he could do in a team like barca

Hi !

Dude, Arsenal can survive ( finish in top four ) in the Premier league even without stellar signings as they have shown in the past ! I agree we do not have Ronaldo ; but then again we have a world-class player in Fabregas in mid-field ! ! A very dedicated professional I might add ! And not one to lose form as easily as the great Dinho himself !

I agree we have to make a couple of signings ( minimum ) . But it is so that we can challenge for the lead of the Premiership and not for a top four finish as you seem to suggest !

Cheers !

Re: Football Club - 27-07-2009, 06:05 PM

I agree with you on some points - I personally love the way Arsenal play and support Wenger's youth policy, however the reason why I said that you might find it hard to compete with the likes of City unless you buy atleast a couple more guys is your lack of depth and bench strength.

You do have Fabregas in midfield, but he needs a solid partner along with him (why didn't you guys go for Yaya ?) otherwise he becomes frustrated and disillusioned because Denilson is simply not good enough, not yet.

You guys can do with some experienced heads in the team, especially in midfield and defence. Toure, if he leaves will be a big blow to you.
