Redcafe Rules.
Edit : Yeah I can well understand the groan, specially on a day when you draw a home fixture with city. But aren't you guys used to it ? I mean this is the usual story of every season sans the pre-christmas bonanza this year.
Edit 2 : http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/...576#msg5266576 happy reading.

United- Inter
0-0 probably doesn't do justice to the intensity through which the game was played.
I had to miss the last three games of united due to so and so reasons. But this was a clash I couldn't miss for all the money in the world.
Ties like these is what makes watching football so very special (pool-madrid , roma-arsenal are no exceptions)The last time we played inter was way back in 99 . our next tie could well be in 2019 ( me hope me would be watching the match at my plush beachside house in miami by then )
United played the first half like they were the home team. could have easily scored 2-3 in the first 45 mins itself. ceasar's heorics saved inter the blushes.
For some apparent reason I felt that adriano was very restrained. Prior to the fixture , SAF mentioned that ibrahimovic was inter's main man , but I had this feeling all along that adriano would steal the spotlight.
united's best chance was through giggs. His extra stride meant cuttin down the angle to aim at. Could have made amends by chipping instead of taking the shot.
Inter started off agressively in the second half. stanchovich had a good chance of doing the unthinkable but his shot was poorly taken.
I would have taken the 0-0 scoreline any damn day , but the way things turned out at san siro , feeling a trifle disappointed.Johny evans was sensational , so was evra. everyone chipped in. O'shea gave away some cheap passes , but overall , united were right up there.
I would have liked scholes to come on somewhere around the 70th minute. His game would have suited evra and ronaldo prefectly.Thats the only area me felt SAF missed the trick.
We've got a great chance of nailing it 2 weeks down the line at OT. here's hoping for the best.
PS - and yeah , the last thing me would want to see is mourinho's dance along OT's touchline

@ Sir Roy Keane,
Same here. I don't want to see Mourinho's touchline antics again. Only if that Paul Scholes had not been incorrectly disallowed for offside.....
I clearly can't see any attacking threat from the Inter midfield at OT. Yesterday, Maicon looked a little dangerous a couple of times but he clearly spent most of the time defending. Cambiasso looked good but the others did not pose much of a threat. This meant that Ibrahimovich had to drop deep and try and create something which suited our defenders because most of the action was in front of them. They'll have to revise their tactics but clearly Mourinho has very few attacking options.
We probably need 2 goals at OT to be on the safer side and I guess we can score them if we have Rooney in the team. We looked more dangerous when he was on the field for the last 8 minutes or so (with all due respect to 3 lung Park ).
Looking forward to the Real Pool game.....
Cheers,
Krishna

Here is the link to an article by Sid Lowe on Rafa Benitez ahead of his visit to the Bernebeau. It is a good read with a lot of anecdotes from some of the players he trained as the coach of Real Madrid B.

Re: Football Club -

Half-time Villarreal 0-0 Panathinaikos
Half-time Sporting Lisbon 0-1 Bayern Munich
Half-time Chelsea 1-0 Juventus
Half-time Real Madrid 0-0 Liverpool
Chelsea are 1 up through Drogba's goal. Real-Liverpool match is hanging in the balance, Torres has some ankle problem, so don't know how long will he last. Gerrard needs to come off the bench to take control of midfield where Alonso isn't able to provide the usual fluidity. Though the spaniard provided the shot of the match, from his own half he tried to pick out Casillas off his line, but the GK was up to the task. Liverpool got the corner, but the ref blew for HT with 45:00 on the clock. So no injury time played and the Reds were obviously frustrated, because Torres did receive treatment, so sometime should have been added.

REAL MADRID v LIVERPOOL LINE-UPS

Full-time
Sporting Lisbon 0-5 Bayern Munich
Chelsea 1-0 Juventus
Real Madrid 0-1 Liverpool
Villarreal 1-1 Panathinaikos
Liverpool come back from Real with a vital away goal. Yossi Benayoun scored a header 6 yards out from a Aurelio free kick. Real defense was absent there... though Robben played really well to get 4-5 shots on the Reds goal, but Real will have to do really well to score and win at Anfield.
Advantage English clubs, three of whom carry a 1-0 lead, but only Liverpool with the away goal. Can't wait for the return leg.

Cheers Liverpool!!!!!!!!!!
Atleast some good news for the liverpool fans after not so good recent premiere league performance.
This win will definitely boost the confidence of Benitez's men. Hope they emulate this in the coming matches as well.

Real almost played into Liverpool's hands. The match suited Liverpool's style of play and they did really well to strangle Madrid. Higuain and Robben were the only ones who threatened and even they were allowed only to take long shots. Both Alonso and Mascherano had good games but I thought Torres just went quiet after his first chance and the ankle injury didn't help him much.
It wasn't a dirty match and it was good to watch. It'll be interesting to see how Liverpool play the return leg. Will they sit back and invite Real to attck or will they go for a goal early to settle this tie once for all?
