FULL-TIME Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
One of the best away games that we've played for a long time.

Woo hoo!!!
The Bridge has been breached. As rightly predicted by yours truly, Liverpool won!
A great match, with good football being played all round.
And I'm increasingly believing in Liverpool's chances this season... after this win, and recent results, almost anything looks achievable....
YNWA!!!

I was very surprised to see Chelsea players not trying to win ugly (in contrast to what Scolari said before match), and it was good to see players picking each other up after tackles and kicks. Of course, Ashley Cole was in his usual self; volatile, cynic and a bad loser.
But lets celebrate a big win, and another step towards that eluding silverware.

yuppppp
i agree
liverpool's only rival manchester is lagging well behind at this point of time
i always said chelsea is bound to suffer with such a limited striking force
the only team who looks to challenge liverpool at this point of time is arsenal

It just keeps on getting better………. Ofcourse, it feels good to be ahead in a game for a change… and keep that lead……We showed that if we can break the lead of others, we can manage ours with equanimity……
With the stomping spree that Chelsea was on, the next few weeks are going to be interesting. It always is good to beat a side away but to break a great unbeaten record is icing on the cake…
P.S. presently, although the loss, i would say Chelsea are the threatening one with the results and the game , more than anyone else: Ofcourse, You cannot forget Hull, can you ?

Surely, you mean Manchester City, right?
Dude, your post is self-contradicting. First, you call 'Manchester' our chief rivals, and seconds later, you feel it is 'Arsenal' who pose realistic challenges...

This is exactly what I don't want Rafa to say Benitez issues warning to rivals. There are still 29 games to go and for once Liverpool is in a situation that we've never been for many years. Over-confidence is the last thing we need, so lets keep our heads down and not worry about saying things to the press. Remember how Wenger's comments about going unbeaten came back to haunt him...

Re: Football Club -

It is going to be a very difficult 2 weeks for Liverpool now and in my opinion, how they fare in next two weeks will determine if they are really in contention this time. They play 5 matches in 15 days (having already played the 1st of them yesterday). Here is the tentative schedule -
30 Oct - Portsmouth (H)
1 Nov - Spurs (A)
5 Nov - Athletico (H)
8 Nov - West Brom (H)
None of these opponents are a Chelsea or ManUtd (let us leave aside an Athletico travelling to Anfield for a dispensable match), but if Liverpool can perform inspite of such short breaks is what its supporters will like to see. All I can say is that if Liverpool manage to win all the 3 league matches, they are going to be very difficult to overtake anytime soon (provided they don't suffer from any injury to a key player).
Honestly, I still believe Chelsea are better placed to win the league this season. They lost yesterday, but they have a much better set of players in its bench than any other side in the league and hence have the maximum depth.
PS - Yesterday's match would have been an altogether different proposition had Drogba been playing. Chelsea sorely missed him.

Couldn't agree more... The reds need to convert draws into wins against the mid-table opposition to ensure they stay in the race.

no i meant manchester united
manchester united is the real contender along with liverpool and arsenal
i had written off chelsea well back and i stand by it even now
and out of the two(red devils and gunners),at least as per the present scenario, arsenal looks the only team to challenge liverpool's dominance
though i am not sure how long rafael will be able to maintain this consistency
and the second supposition is hull's run will come to an end sometime :eyepop:
