My My.... Some friendly talk or what...

I guess the depleted arsenal should not be much of a worry, ateast the newbies get some practice, the results ... well everyone knows the outcome...

Federer, there are courses on Sports Management...chk this (MBA in Football Management: University of Liverpool)out.

PSL, the University of Liverpool offers a course in football management. Perhaps, Arsenal can get a course sponsored at London Univesity on 'How to retain your best employees' or 'how not to justify every loss/draw by claiming to play beautiful football.'

And yeah, well, Arsenal should get another award - the cleanest and most scratchless trophy cabinet in the last decade.

Does the same place offer a course on:-
- "How to spend your millions and have absolutety nothing to show for it" or a one on
- "How not to rotate your workforce" ?

---

"I rotate because I want to win. You can play the same XI all year long and finish fourth and that's a bad result. We have to rotate because our squad is not as good as Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United"
-Rafa Benitez

 Now, wouldn't it be hilarious if they end up below 4th (even after spending the millions and rotating the workforce?!)

So, I read that Lampard has signed a five year contract that makes him the highest earning player.

Frankly (no pun intended) I dont know whether to be wary or happy.

And SS - have a great birthday and a great year!

Cheers.

1 Day to KO. Am back.

With all my pointless long posts, I am back to where I belong - The Hallowed Thread. Will also join the Fantasy Football League. Last time in the Euros I was the Runner up. Will go one better this time.

Re: Football Club - 15-08-2008, 04:10 PM

the season is about to begin tommorrow. YAY.

my predictions for the next fortnight:-

ManUtd - might have a slow start to the season, with rooney and ronaldo missing. i am really interested to see how anderson plays this season. like that kid. top player. wish him my best of luck to get ahead of scholes in the pecking order by the end of season. wishing to see some scintillating performances from carrick also. awesome chap he is. expecting 2 wins with a win and a draw also a possibility.

chelsea - well interested to see scholari's tactics. never interested to follow thier game as it used to be boring. let us see what scholari brings to the table. also wonder how Drogba turns out. expecting 2 wins.

Liverpool - i never understood why they draw too many games and play boring when they have such talented players. this year it is the same. they added more talent but the problem with liverpool i guess is their manager. i guess this yr it is make or break for Rafa. expecting a win and a draw in the next 2 matches .

Arsenal - every season i go through a roller coster ride that is arsenal. this season is no different. with an injury list as big as ManUtd's trophy cabinet i have no clue how the season wil start out. luckily no big matches this month. but then it has been like this for the last few years. wenger always kept us on the line going into the season but in the end beat my expectations everytiem while sticking to that beautiful scintillating football. with fabregas and toure out a win and a draw expected.

waiting to see how spurs, man city, sunderland and aston villa start their seasons.

Cheers,
Deepu.

Re: Football Club - 15-08-2008, 08:53 PM

Rooney is back... Ferguson has confirmed he will feature against newcastle

I think we are going to win easily against newcastle..

1. When you see their signings they have bolstered their defence..
2. They only know about one thing under Keegan ATTACK, that also with no synchronization
3. Our defence is the best we have had since I have started following United, around 15 years back, so Newcastle can bring it on we dont have any problem
4. They will leave gaps at the back so that we can hit them on the counter.

Strategy: For Fergusson, Treat it as a boxing match as he has done in the last 2 meetings, just soak it up in the first half (a goal or two will surely help) , and as in the seconds the chink appear in newcastle armor hit them hard.

I expect a comfortable win for United.

As far as the signings are concerned, we have kept our full squad (apart from pique who didnt have a notable contribution) , and some young blood will be introduced by fergusson, possebon, da silva twins, Campbell and Wellbeck. So I am not concerned

We have been linked with bids for Berbatov, Henry and David Silva, positions mainly striker and Left Winger, I see a signing coming up shortly but even if it doesnt hopes are pretty high this season as well

Actually from the time I have started watching footie has conincided with United great run so actually I am quite satisfied with whatever we do, Fergusson has given so much JOY in the past one and a half decade that one cannot complain about anything.

But we have been so spoilt by him as we dream of every trophy we feature in and actually more often than not get it...

@ Jok3r: Well It's not about keeping quiet actually, what's the harm in taking the backseat and enjoy a gunner and a scouser rip each other apart...

Jose Mourinho recently claimed his side's Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a better player.

Ronaldo, though, has refused to be drawn into a war of words, adding: "I respect everyone's opinion. But the trophies that matter are at my house."
