Are you debating "What can we do to stop terrorism???" or the govt. efficiency.

Can you please explain how the prime minister can make a difference when the blasts is a case where weakness within mumbai city which has been exploited. We live in huge nos.

You could have taken the best measures but the city will always be vunerable. Every govt has failed. Leaders from the west with all their sophiscated machinery have failed.Period.

The issue is also local. The city has always and will be vulnerable, irrespective of any govt. Period.

i juzt dont understand one simple thing.these events are very common in india.though not on this scale.but every other day,in some similar activity to this one,ppl lose their lives.and thenthe government offers them money.now, wen u hav SUCH infrastructure and money, why not spend it on the very foundation, the security itself!!?if at all the security can be upgraded and tightened....there will be a remarkable difference.i mean,it has to be done sooner or later,y not now?atleast now?i mean, just imagine ppl, someone actually goes there n puts these explosives in such crowded places.
i know that wont to folproof.but nothing is totally flawless.atleast there wil be lot less such incidences.and ow,in another couple of days, there will be some rains or something else,n this like all the other attcks wil juz be a horrid memory.they'll cal it terror tuesday or some crap.

 WHY?

I think issues are being mixed. The vandalism of Shiv sena has no defence.

And why kill them?? The shiv sena has had and will; continue to be a toothless tiger and a frail one now. Elections results have shown it. Rane,Raj have moved away. It's a party that had the perfect excuse to gather attn. But its clear that the city thrives on values other than what the sainiks profess.

Dude..... look at the timeline of the events....... and in any case what that was purely a publicity stunt.

The matter is too deep to relate it to stuff like this bro... read Black Friday sometime to get a gist of how the entire thing works. You will be horrified.

Re: What can we do to stop terrorism??? - 11-07-2006, 11:07 PM

Hail Manmohan! The weakest ever PM of Bharat !

It was the fateful evening of 10/29
Men, women & children all dressed in fine
Roaming, laughing & giggling happily
Preparing for the great fest Diwali

Came upon them a bolt from the blue
There was panic everywhere without a clue
One by one three explosions sounded
Leaving behind countless dead and wounded.

“Congratulation” & “Jubilation” shouted the Jehadis
And our weak kneed PM Manmohan talks of Peace

A beautiful, joyful evening was cruelly shattered
But “peace talks’ with the enemies was all that mattered
The secular media with all its gimmicks
Reported the incident with their usual tricks

“We condemn terrorism”, they all stated indifferently
While our citizens were blown up mercilessly
Anti-national communists too were quick to denounce
After giving funds to POK for more terrorists to pounce

“Celebration” & ‘Elation” filled up the Jehadis
And our weak kneed PM Manmohan talks of Peace

This happened before & will happen again
The blood of our people spilled in vain
For the safety & security of our motherland
We now need a leader with an iron hand

Its time to have clarity of ideas & thought
Without which this Dharam Yudh cannot be fought
So brothers & sisters, Wake up! Arise! Unite! & Fight!
Eradicate & eliminate the enemies with all our might

With powerful shouts of “Vande Mataram” scare these Jehadis
And remove this PM Manmohan before he again talks of Peace

( This poem was written by 1 indian when terrorist attacked delhi last year )

Re: What can we do to stop terrorism??? - 11-07-2006, 11:48 PM

Resignations, peace rallys, protests, police terrrors wont work against this terrorism. Lets understand this...ppl ( or rather terrorists ) who are behind this, they dont do this for fun or publicity.. One motive that I think of is.. they think themselves as freedom fighters or something, fighting for some moral cause... This is what is most irritating. Because their belief in their so - called principles is so strong, they are ready to give and take lives :(

The fight for priciples, for something that they believe is right, but actually is not, results in such blasts with loss of lives and property.. How can they be stopped, when they think that they are fighting for just ????????? :( Taking lives of ordinary and helpless ppl in a local train really is a bad way to do that ...

I fail to understand why some person are shouting at top of their voice for PM to resign...This will only further strengthen the aim of terrorist i.e to create panic and anarchy in the state....

I believe that this menance can be tackled at two levels...
1) Strengthen our local police (mumbai police) intelligence network...I had read somewhere that nowadays posting to intelligence branch is seen as a punishment posting as it is not lucrative ( one cant take bribes here ) as compared to a normal police station job... As a result all useless officers /constables get posted here and no one aspires for this department...
Suggestions include Creating more local informants , more active cordination with central intelligence agencies , recognise and reward crime branch officals who bust terror cells. This will not gurantee that a blast will not happen but it definelty reduces the chances.... And even if blast happens speedier detection of terrorist...

2) Attack the problem at a more holistic level. These terrorist are a motivated lot . Just firm offensive against them will not solve the problem..Israel inspite of a hardline approach for several years still continues to have sucide bomb attacks..
I believe in holding dialogues with whatever extremist groups we r facing be it SUNNI or LET.. Talk to them , let their problems be heard too and I am a process of finding a solution can be initiated... For eg BODO talks in the NorthEast...

Guys to all Future budding managers ... This is a problem India is facing...
Can everyone come up with a practical solution ... Instead of mere emotional outburst....It can provide some useful insights....

Re: What can we do to stop terrorism??? - 12-07-2006, 04:14 AM

The reply to an attack of this magnitude should follow the principal of an 'eye for an eye'.

We have a lot of terrorists in jails and prisons across the country... They should simply start executing these people in Public. That is the only way out. You have to fill them with fear like they fill the general public!!! They have to learn that any time they are caught, they will die. Most of them know that the worst possible case would be prison for life and the mother organization will more than gladly take care of near and dear family members. The family memebrs of these people need to learn... that their sons will be executed in public.

There will be tons of explanations to refute this... Moral, Humanitarian, Non-violence, but if any of those people lost some one beloved in these blasts, they would know that that is not going to be an appropriate solution.

Barbaric measures are needed to resolve these conflicts. The americans and the british have done this already!! they have torchered people, people they claim are terrorists. The military in accordance with the president has a free swing at them. they broke the geneva convention... What the HELL are we waiting for??

Also... it all boils down to whom we choose to represent us. If you choose 80 year old JA's who are more attached to their seat and have one leg in the grave... what else do you expect???

We, the people, need to wake up!!! This is not the first blast... not the second... and it DAMN SURE is not the last, unless we take corrective measures.

All the damn politicians have done in the past 24 hours is arrange flight tickets and maake some CRAPPY statements....
The Chief Minister announced Rs.1,00,000 for all dead!!! Think of it!!!
Blastards are spending 100 times more for marrying their children!!!

this figure will not even feed a family of 4 for a year... let alone a lifetime...

It is SHAMEFUL !!! Worst is... all of us... US(me included) will forget this in a fortnight and get back to preparing for CAT/etc... No one will remember this.... until the next time it happens.. and that's what the politicians BANK on... That the public and MOB has a short memory...

The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.
