BCCI-Richest Board...Way to Go. - 23-12-2005, 08:31 PM

Hello Juntha,

Well....Mr.Bindra has certainly proved that he is not far behind when it comes to marketing skills and has taught some lessons to Mr.Dalmiya.
Now Team India and in turn BCCI is the Richest Board not only in Cricket but in any sport. After the Sahara Deal, BCCI today announced the new one. Nike is also now the parallel sponsor of Indian Cricket Team. 96 crores for next 5 years. Big Amount.
The shirt will now have the so-called "swoosh" now.
And to add to that it has also given 100 crores for the official kit for players. And this does not include watches n stuffs. So now BCCI also has chance to make some more money.
What say Juntha?

BCCI needs to utilize the money in an efficient and proper manner for the Development of Indian Cricket. BCCI should plan for the long run and should look forward to develop Cricketers from the very root like School level.

Re: BCCI-Richest Board...Way to Go. - 24-12-2005, 02:43 PM

so the richest board has got richer.. way to go india.
indian team also is on a roll.
things could not be rosier...

but where is the money going..
196 crore deal with Nike.. and Sahara paying 8.5 crore per label for the label on the shirts..
BCCI needs new bank accounts to stow the stash..
but the question remains where is the money going..
last year BCCI raked the moolah with the Telecast rights sell-off...

but thats old story..

BCCI is raking moolah and thats clearly visible with the fact that Sharad Pawar left frontline politics to head it...
what knowledge did he have about Cricket..does he have even know the names of all the cricket playing nations..
So BCCi is richer... good.. but that would be something to be proud of when the money is put to use.
Cricket needs to find favourability at the junior and state levels.
Sponsorship needs to be provided for budding cricket players. better playing conditions need to be ensured for young players, to ensure a better future for indian cricketers.. after all Sachin and Dravid wont play forever..

Nothing is, but what is not.......

Where there is money .... there is dirty politics...
The BCCI Elections...
The sacking/appointment of Selection Committee members.. etc etc.

Can't they use such huge money in appointing better managers n selectors?
The best thing would be to take politicians out of cricket.... :x
They just cannot resist the temptation of money..
