MISHA - The Russian Magazine from childhood - 19-10-2005, 01:54 AM

I remember having subscribed to a kids magazine called "Misha". This was published from the erstwhile Soviet Union.

I have lots of fond memories of the magazine. They had a bear called Misha as the logo.

I believe they had shut down operations, and might have recently restarted.

Anyone remembers Misha? Have a scan or an old copy?

Er,you do realise that MISHA stopped printing a really long time ago.I am not sure scanners were available back then.And in the ensuing period a lot of them would have given it away. I guess u'll have better luck in hunting for a copy.

If I remember correctly the last few pages had illustrations by children, pictures of new stamps, addresses of kids who wanted pen-pals. There was also a simple crossword,unfortunately in Russian, beautiful illustrations for the stories.

Omg, I had absolutely forgotten about this magazine until I saw this thread. And as soon as I saw the topic long lost memories came flooding back. I loved this magazine! There was this library near my house, in vizag, which had many copies of this magazine and I used to go and sit therefor hours on end going through them...ah, the joys of nostalgia...

<Bump>

Me too a hardcore MISHA fan... Google found the following links to me:

Some illustrations for MISHA: http://khatchatrian.ru/en/childraw.html

One specific illustration: http://khatchatrian.ru/en/misha.html

As the site claims, an online shopping option for MISHA: http://shop.russia-on-line.com/periodicals/item.php?id=72847 FYI: Price $59.00 !!!!

This guy Samanth seems to have some copies of MISHA, Check out his Blog: http://samanth.blogspot.com/2005/06/meme-hunts-me-down.html

One MISHA magazine cover: http://www.cosplaylab.com/cosplayers/costumes/details.asp?costumeid=62379

One more cover: http://www.cosplaylab.com/cosplayers/costumes/details.asp?costumeid=62380

Almost all these links could only be used to revive the memory of MISHA, nothing more than that. But try contacting that Samanth guy, who seems to have some copies of our magazine. Lets see ... !!

Hail Misha !!

Rick.
