I remember this magazine . it was just wonderful ! Also remember Target , chandamama ( virtually in every indian language ) and another magazine called Quest .

Misha had all these stories about the erstwhile soviet union . really cute

Those days seem so far away now :( . DOnt have any of these magazines now , they just remain in my memories !

hey iv got a whole load of them..well atleast a dozen or more..
got them bound n gagged at the bottom of my comics cupboard..
may I be honest..I thought they wer a lil how should I say it ..slow n unexciting ..mayb I discovered them late.. dont think this thread of misha lovers gonna take this lying..soorry guys..
Can I redeem myself on this thread if I say that a couple of science fiction stories wer really cool..(they wer few but wer genrally fun)
n yeah the names defntly adorable..Misha...

p.s.i think Misha was also the name for mascot of the moscow olympics..in 82 or 84?! amnesia strikes!

Yes, Misha the bear is a common Russian Mascot. I think like the old TV serials, perhaps those comics weren't good compared to today's standards, but it's the nostalgia and the memories that make them special for many people who are now our age.

Guess what, I stumbled upon this forum just to find out about MISHA, and what I see is all guys moaning like me of the golden years when they used to read this magazine by borrowing, subscribing, stealing , whatever .

I was really looking hard for this magazine for my little child, wanted her to enjoy what I did in my childhood. Found no links or address of the old publishers nor any information. A lot of books from russia use to come in those days. One of the popular publications were from Mir publishers, Moscow. But even they seem to have ceased to sell books in India. They had really good collection of translated, cheap, good quality educational books.

As of other Comics meant Indrajal at those time, Target was for those little grown up a nice mag with detective carton in front pages, an old styled Chandamama, or the rather funny Tinkle.

Really guys, If you do find some information do share. As of other thing I can see if somebody lends his magazine, that they are scanned and PDFed for all of us to share those golded memories of MISHA.

Welcome aboard, Bundya!
Misha has again started being published, there are a few email addresses in the thread you might want to write to. But in the '80s there were few quality options other than Misha; now there are many more choices to choose from for kids. Subscribing to Misha these days will be expensive. Also the original artists have changed; some are dead even!

well said...MISHA was one of my childhood favorites.....loved it....too bad they have shut down operations...used to find a lot of these russian books(especially ones by mir publications) in delhi around 13-14 years ago...i remember buying these books frm the roadside in karol bagh...there used to be lots of booksellers at that time....

but last week i was in delhi....went to karol bagh in search of these bookwalas...alas...couldnt find even a single one...have a huge collection of russian books that i used to buy frm such roadside bookwalas....sigh...those were the happy and carefree days...
