Arrow Look at this... - 05-10-2005, 07:56 PM

HI all,
Am recently joined Infosys Mysore. Some of my frens had a similar experience wen they lanaded on b'lore rly station. Some of them were asked to pay more for the extra luggage and some were asked for petty proofs of age,etc...things that ultimately led to the payment of gud some for just nothing.
Also the people of north india faced the language problem as they all were speaking in native language.

??????????????????????
I feel north indians are their first targets.

This mail had reached IIMB's networks too with the profs doing their bit in spreading awareness. This was a mail we received in the morning from one of our profs.

Ps- I do not know who Anand Sinha is.

FYI.

Subject: Action Taken in Nimish's Railway Case

Hello Nimish,

I am sure that you must be aware of this, but I just wanted to let you

know that 4 RPF Personnel and 2 TTE's have been suspended at Bangalore.

I know that this incident would have made you feel that "all is bad at

bangalore", but I fervently hope that the quick support generated in

your case makes you feel that "things can always get corrected" !

God bless

Anand Sinha

Well this is truly shocking. but I'd assume that the guy himself must have done something to irk the police guys. infact something really nasty that things reached this level. Otherwise I think things are not really this bad in India. I may be wrong but I'd like to think +ve about the state of affairs.

In any case those goons deserved to be dismissed and I appreciate the courage of the guy in taking the matter to the authorities. BTW I also saw something on the road recently. This was in NOIDA near my office in NSEZ. A bus driver was really speeding and driving rash. Unfortunately for him a police jeep was behind him. The jeep overtook him and the cops pulled him out of the cockpit and thrashed him badly. i mean you should see it to believe it, they really do it mercilessly. That was wrong I'd say, though the driver himself was at fault. But maybe laaton ke bhoot baton se nahi mante....and plz don't think I mean this for the IIM guy's story as well!!

A couple of things struck me. I am sorry if I am digressing from the intent of this thread. But I was just thinking aloud if the guy himself is giving out the right version of the story or not. I don't think academic qualification has anything to do with personal integrity.

I found a lot of loopholes in his version. Primarily, why would anyone not withdraw the whole money in the first go. Why did the purported Infy guy have to use it twice and then again a third time at the Samsung showroom ? If I were to cheat I would do it swiftly in one go and forget all about returning the card.

Hey Guys,

I also received that mail and ignored it thinking that it was just another forward.
But I read the following news item flashing on NDTV news yesterday:

"4 CRPF personnel and 2 TC suspended in Bangalore for assaulting a software engineer"

I guess that means the mail was correct and this decision should bring some relief to the victim.
