Hey Anuj r u sure abt the Placement details that u have given.I have been working in Dubai for arnd two yrs now.The salaries that u have mentioned seem a lil high to me.Indians getting such high salaries and that too without much work exp is something that is unheard of in UAE.
I m in India presently on vacation.I m in hyd or else I wud have loved to meet u.
Also I knew the fees was quite high but I didnt know that most of it can b obtained as a loan.Thats good news for ppl like me.
Hope u dont mind if I PM u or mail u for details.

Regarding the safety issue *I too vouch for it.Dubai is most probably one of the *the safest place on earth for women.That is y there r a lot of single Indian Girls working here.

thanks.. i got a few of my questions answered by just reading the above post. but it mentions in the catalogue that u need to take up cat/gmat n if u have not taken up either u have to write an exam conducted by them.. now i have taken cat but it dint go too great. am i allowed to take the other exam conducted by them this year ? n how would u rate the difficulty level of that exam?

dont worry abt the second deadline or the third deadline just apply if u want to. if u have the calibre they will send u a call.

2) Yours is the first batch to pass out this yr, how can you coment upon
the plausible salaries ??
it is too early stage to even comment on as pictures are still unclear.
but neays our estimates range between 4k - 7k dhs per mnth. + incentives.

3) Could you also elaborate on what the max Indian Salaries (I was
readin that they give you an offer to work in India as well)
depending upon ur area of interest but to give u a global view :
in mktg u can expect a max of 4lacs INR
in finance areas u can expect anythin from 4 lacs - 6 lacs INR

4) which is the best branch to specialize in ? I'm from IT services
background
again its ur area of interst. every branch is good.
they r starting with IT so advice u to go for that if u r interested in this or else finance has a scope for anyone and everyone and is regardded as evergreen in any country so go for that. and in that u can go for wealth mgmt if u have interst in that.

5) How can I minimize 12 lakhs to 10, what are the loan details
see 9 lacs is what u have to spend.
+ 1.5 - 2 lacs u will spend here.
minimisation varies upon individula and how good u r in cutting cost of ur living but mind it then u will not be living ur life or enjoying ur life in dubai u will be sustaining only. once u r here donot think of cutting cost on expense of ur living standard as u never know u will get a chance to be in dubai or not once ur course is over. it might happen u r placed in india or any other country in middle east where u donot get that freedom. so advice to u all plz donot cut costs or else stay in india.

hav completed the course what do u think abt the
placements in spjain dubai.and how difficult it is to
get a placement in india after doin a pgdm in dubai.do
sjimr mumbai help in gettin placement or they just
bluff about it.and one more thing i hav heard ki you
get a degree even of spjimr.is it true?

placements it is too early say as we r still in the process. the colleg aims to place everybody by may end the date of course completion
so u have to wait till then to actually give u anexact picture

u cna get a indian placement too if u opt for it but advisable only for finance specialisation not for any other.

till now we cannot say that whether spjain mumbai will help in placmenst or not but one thing is sure that both the institutes have same placment co-ordinator / director who is really good.yes we will get the same diploma as spjimr students get but on it wil be mentioned that u have doen one yr course in dubai.

1. Have the placement activities started?( in SPJIMR Mumbai, they have) What kind of companies and offers are expected? Would the placements be concentrated in Dubai or in India also?

the companies have started coming for the pre placement talk like citibank dubai, icic bank dubai, lupin labs india, jp morgan india, starling grup uae, in the fuinance and marketing and some retail chains like carrefour / jashanmal/ jumbo electronics middle east.
since it was a pre placment talk the complete picture of salaries is not definite as i will vary from individual to individual being dubai market new to mbas.
a roufgh estimate tells us that everybody shud be placed between 4k - 6k dhs + incentives of 2k - 4k and at the high side a max consolidated package inlcuding 10000dhs.


2. What are some of the intrenships and projects that you have been a
part of?

well the colege arranged for the interns in the diwali break for those who stayed back in UAE . some of them did projects with a few companies and thy were satisfied with it.
ididnot really opt for it as i came down to india but i did my training with HSBC Bank India in delhi.
3. How rigorous (academically) is the course (IB), I have done my B.COM ( + 1 year work ex) and have a basic knowledge of Finance and Accountancy, should i start preparing on any particular aspects?

well frankly speaking its all abt time mgmt. it is rigorous if u r willing to study and it is not if u want to freak out in dubai everyyday.

but u dont need to u know prepare for some course pack or sumtihing as everything will be done here from basics.
i am an engg. and i was able to pik things no doubt i had to put some effort into it but ii got my things cleared. so dont worry on that front.


4. Is the visiting faculty regular... How effective do you find
interacting with them(teleconferencing) once they've left? What if you have last minute before the exam kinda doubts?

dont worry those things can be taken care of. every doubt can be dealt here.

5.The accomodation facilities on the CD look amazing... But how do you manage the food aspect... Do you have to cook?Also any medical facilities available in case of common ailments?

accomodation is really good absolutely same and much better than what it loks in CD.
some of us cook and others wwe order from the various restauranst and nominal cost and hwich is much more convenient and much more better than cooking urself as it saves time.
b ut that is a very small issue u need not worry .
6. What is the average monthly expenditure that one incurs as a student of SPJCM?
it is difficult to defienn expeditutre as it depends upon ur control
there r ppl who spend 350 dhs pm on avg and there r who spend 2000dhs pm too.
one shud easily sustain hisself in 600dhs .
my expenses r abt soem where 1000 - 1200 dhs ( say on avg 1000dhs pm)




7. Do you have any vacations?

ya we do have diwali break other cacation according uae and islamic holidas.

PLS DONT WORRY ABT THAT. VISA / TICKETS ETC WILL BE BOOKED BY COLLEG AND THOSE WILL EB GRUP BOOKINGS AND ALL OF U WILL COME TOGETHER . ON A FIXED DATE BY COLLEGE WHICH WILL BE INTIMATED TO U.

THE COURSE WILL START BY JUNE 9 I GUESS AND U CAN COME HERE 2 -3 DAYS EARLIER ON UR OWN OR WITH THE GRUP WHEN THE COLLEGE INTIMATES U.

2)Is there any pre-MBA material like the one provided by the SP Jain Mumbai campus?

YES THERE IS AND U WILL BE IFORRMED ABT THAT AND U HAVE PRESENTATIONS ON THAT MATERIAL AS AND WHEN U COME HERE.



3)I am from the engineering background and currently work as a software engineer in the Storage domain for HP. Do you suggest any books to be read as a pre requisite to the course, or any material that would prove useful?

NOT AT ALL FOM ACADEMICS POINT. BUT STILL IF U WANT THEN U CAN READ AND GATHER INFO AS MUCH U WANT FOR UR BENEFIT.





4)Can you suggest optimum requirements for the laptop?

PLZ GO BY THE CONFIGURATION WHAT SPJ SUGGEST BUT U CAN BUY THE LAPOTOP UR SELF.

I THINK UR CONFIGURATION SHUD BE WHAT THEY ASK FOR REST IS UR DECISON TO BUY FROM SPJ OR UR OWN.



5)Will you be able to throw some light on the detailed course content for the IT specialization?

SORRY, IT IS A NEW COURSE STARTING THIS YR. BUT WITH INDUSTRY EXP. IT SHUD BE A GOOD ONE,. ONLY ADCOM OR SPJ MGMT CAN EXPLAIN U THIS..

1)Considering the intake has been increased this year how many people will be accommodated in an apartment?

INTAKE HAS NO RELATION WITH APPT SHARING. ANY NO THAT COMES HERE NOT MORE THAN 2 WILL BE SHARING THE ROOM. ONLY THE INC IN INTAKE MEAN MORE NO. OF APPTT.



2)Will accommodation be given according to food preferences ( Veg) and how much earlier do we have to inform our preferences?

YES IT WILL BE ACCORDING TO FOOD PREF. I AM ALSO VEG. IT WIIL ALL BE INTIMATED ONCE U DEPOSIT FES AND ONCE THEY HAVE SUBSTANTIATE PP ON ROLLS FOR ADMISSIO . MAY BE APRIL MID OR APRIL END.



3)Can you give me details about the arrangements for breakfast/lunch/dinner?
