IMS TakeHome Tests : Act

iam preparing with TIME. So forgive my ignorance. neways, whats spectial about ACT. Is it a full length test or sth?

Hi Srikrishnan,

It is a full length test and yesterday's was similar to the CAT 2004 paper.
It is a mock mock cat as aces has mentioned. Something be4 we take our SIMCATs.

My VA perf was really bad. That too in such a decent paper. My scores keep at the same 40 -50 level in most of the tests.

strange that in TIME AIMCAT 1 I did VA better than quants but this time I have messed up big time in VA.

Got more 1 markers wrong than right.

Any strategies guys?

Any idea abt the expected cutoffs?

Hi guys,

just got over with the first ACT - felt it was kinda easy though I did not score that well. Total score of 54.66 (VA=29 Q=19 DI=6.66). Devoted too much time to VA+Q and the result was a dismal (below cut-off) performance in DI.
There are hardly any students in Hyd-IMS so i thought posting my score here would give me an indication how the rest of the country is performing.

I hae wrote first ACT and score is,

VA/RC ---------- 29.66

Qnt -------------- 16.00

DI/DS ----------- 23.33

Total ----- 69.00

Since I am taking IMS tests for the first time, I dunno what should be a descent score. If someone has taken it previously, plz let me know the level of the "performance bar".

I have also posted the same on this thread. IMS-CAT2005

Since we would have lot of ACTs, FCTs, MCTs and SimCATs as well....I think better if we continue on this IMS-CAT2005 thread.

Looking for the consensus.

Whoa! Thats one helluva score man,i guess the average score is around 30-45(atleast the people i've spoken to).my score was below average(25 to be exact).

I think i have another ACT today,Damn nothing much has changed from that last ACT...oh well maybe i can do something in 3 hours...

Well I did improve though, 25(act1)->26(act3) DUH!

My brains number crunching ability's been blunted cause i've bin studying for my gre,so mainly doin english stuff word lists etc....it really helped,the verbal part was a breeze,

Quant was okay,di was pathetic(for me atleast),but overall,this paper had a big but load of logical thinking,so was kinda fun to do,but then i took too much time....

Just waiting for my gre to get over...aftter that its gonna full speed ahead
