Better late than Never...! I hope M not tooo late to find this awesome place for sharing info.....presently working in infy for the past 18 months....didn't try for CAT at all...was interested in M.S...scored 1510 last year....got schol's n real cool universities tooo...but finally dropped the idea....somehow...:huh:

This year...m keeping tabs on the hottest spots for MBA in India. Want to crack "CAT in a NUT SHELL"....this year forrrrr sure....!

Looking to join IMS or TIME or CL.....to maintain a routine for me....can som1 put some advice over here @ which 1 to join afterall?

What is the general course structure i.e. hrs/week, fees, personal guidance (if ne is provided) etc etc?

I strongly suggest TIME.
Dunno where you are put up but TIME ,MUMBAI is pretty good.
I faced a similar dilemna 2 years ago and had almost joined IMS when i saw their teaching style which i dint like one bit.
Unlike IMS with their over crowded batches TIME has smaller batch size and personal attention.
Trust me ,you can call up a TIME faculty even at 2 in the night and get your doubts cleared.I have done that many times.
Their study material and test papers are very planned wherein you can see a general increase in the diffculty level and evaluate performance.
I just attended TIME lectures for 2 hours daily and believe me started preparing 14 days before CAT.
Took the guidance of the faculty and managed to secure 90 and 96 %tile in two consecutive attempts.
Admitted not good enuf scores to get IIMs but decent by any standards.

i t really doesnt matter. time has many ofices so that might be an advantage and ajay arora takes a lot of personal interest in your work

As far as testpapers r concern time definetly have edge over other
but then other things(faculty,material,quality of students)also matters
which i am not very sure about

Go for this awesome twosome......

Mocks - Time
Class room coaching ( Inclu Mocks ) - Career Launcher.

Both these instis have two mock slots every Sunday.......so u can give one in the morn and the other in the afternoon.....however u wud like to give.

Together shud cost u around 11k + 3k

Time test are real good.......are a several notches above the others ( Personal opinion).

id suggest you go for the test series of career launcher, as ive taken both ims and cl, found ims ones deliberately toughened, the like of which doesnt come in cat.
also , the gd-pi programme of cl is the best(again, personal opinion).
we had some real good guys (i mean students) there, and generally had a blast in the mock gds.they also took us for a boot camp, which was good.
ive attended classroom coaching of ims only, so cant comment on the others.ims was a bit like college, with 40 odd students/class, though the faculty wasnt bad.

In my opinion TIME anyday.... in my college, 95% CAT aspirants went for IMS.... and EVERYONE says its trash.. those who made it say they made it coz they didnt take IMS advise too seriously ... Mock Cats were too tough and the final CAT analysis left most without hope.. TIme on the other hand, i felt had very balanced Mocks.. classroom coaching was good (tho not xllent).. Final cat analysis was BANG on target .. and Ajay Arora, tho he gasses a lot , takes personal attention in ur progress... even if he misses ur call he makes sure to call u back...

CL... no idea.. they r very new in blore... Dont even LOOK at the rest

Well.. I have attended a few classes at Time and IMS both at Bangalore and also done the test series.

For classes....

- IMS is more professional .. but the Teachers SUCK!..Especially there is this old guy who comes for Math .... but that guy knows nothing!! .. and the worst thing is that he thinks he knows everything! Quite irritating his classes are!

- Time ...more down to earth ...(may not have IIM tags) but are decent ppl who make a good attempt...(Most of them are CAT aspirants themselves)


For Test Series

- IMS.. way way away from the actual CAT pattern .. they try to show off ..how tough they can get .. BUT they conduct the tests ..very very professionally!

-TIME.. conduct of the tests especially in Malleswaram is pretty bad .. but the tests themselves are pretty good!


CL.. Have heard from a good friend that they are the best in bangalore!
