According to me, everything that has been said till now is of utmost importance. But we must not forget that there are other factors which come into play too...so we must take them into account and continue the speculation... hehehehehehehe

Hi Sumit - 29-04-2005, 04:21 PM

Yar Mine Is An Exceptional Case. I See No Reason Why One Should Do What I Did.
I Appeared For Cat 2002, Got 88%ile. That Was My Final Year In Engineering. I Appeared Without Any Preparation. Now I Passed Out In 2003, And Joined My Job, Which Was Basically A Shop Floor Profile. I Got 94%ile This Time In Cat 2003. Then I Decided To Take The Plunge. I Left My Job And Started Preparing.i Went Into A More Involved Preparation. Reading Novels And Special Books For Increasing Speed. Quant Involves A Lot Of Out Of The Box Thinking. For This I Bought Books. I Was Mainly Concentrating On Quant All This While. I Did Many Books For This. I Was Associated With Career Launcher And Ims. Postal Course Of Ims And Regular Course Of C L. I Did Cl Material. And Some Ims Material. Ims Has Quite A Comprehensive Package. But It's Difficulty Level And Relevance Can Be Challenged. Anyhow, For More Details I Will Need More Questions.

Regards
Giri

well Giri,

I disagree with u at this point....i too have done IMS material but didnt find it that good....we are not concerned with how comprehensive the material is but how well our fundamentals are once we go thro' the material.....i also found this that the simcats of IMS are too QUIXOTIC......CL or PT mocks are much more realistic and logical.....as we have seen that CAT is becoming more and more logical it is better to solve some logical papers......whereas IMS simcats are still stale and illogical.....I have problems with English.....mainly reading comprehension.......biggest problem is that i dont like it much....How to develop a liking for it????

Mr. India( Please do tell us ur real name and a brief introduction if possible)

when u are learning something then you should look for the actual value addition...Vocab may not seem to be that important from exam point of view but it helps a lot in reading comprehension.......good vocab is also a platform of improving communication skills....presenting the idea more crisply and clearly becomes easy if u posses a good vocab treasure....nothing goes waste.....yes it is very important...and again this is my poit of view....others may differ.....its upon u to analyse and find what are ur views about it and decide accordingly....
