Hi.

I think that only I and Anop r here in this category as of now. But anyway, here goes.

Intw calls from - A,C,L,K
Final Calls from - Zilch
CAT percentile brkup - 99.19 overall, 98 + in VA and Quant and 92 + in LR and DI
Workex - 9 mths as of December 2002 in Covansys (s/w)
Acads - 68.22 in engg, 73 in 12th (with a 63 in Math - Ouch ! hurts 2 remember that ) and 80.2 in 10th
GD/PI rating - My personal opinion is that it went fairly OK at all the places. Of course it wasn't outstandingly good anywhere, but wasn't very bad either

coz i never gota final call from any iims......but the fact that i aint got no call has still not sunk .
This was my third attempt at cat.....first time no preps at all.........second time....total ass sloggin..saw some of my best scores and best ranks at both cf and ims....but the pressure that this time you gota make it took the calls away from me......i was so much into it ki......while i gave cat 2001 and saw the verbal section...the match the meanings questions looked like DI to me .......but then i realised ki i had it i me.......and forced myself to go the distance a third time.......this time i told myself strictly no preps....its only the sunday mocks at ims cf time careeravenues.....dosnt matter where.....go handdle different papers......cat went very decent.....but realised my english hadnt gone well, some 84%lile(and similerly for pagal in quant) ......ended up with waitlist 32 on MDI
but one noteworthy thing about my preps....though i didnt get calls....i still feel it would be very very helpful.......instead of taking 8-10 mocks of a single institute......i felt it was better to take a few tests of 3-4 instis....coz each insti has a specific way of settin a paper and after a coupla mocks u get used to them(atleast i did...unluckily didnt get used to cat ) ....... these instis allow u to take single mocks for 100 bugs a piece.....if not there r always friends to fallback on and the xerox wala to xeroz the papers

Hey guys c the brand power (product is known by the brand ) , Xerox is one of the companies which manufactures Photocopying machine , and the machine is not called Xerox machine it is photo copier and u dont xerox a document rather u get it photoo copied

I dunno if I shud post here, but like bingo, I am one of the disappointed ones who did not get a call from any IIMs, profile is something like this..
quant - 94.5 %ile
DI - 93.5 %ile
Verbal - 85 %ile
Overall - 96 %ile
work ex - 3.5 years as S/w Engg
Acads - 77 % in BE, 85 in 10th and 12th

And I used to think that Verbal was my forte...prob was that I thought I wud max my score in V to make up for my Q & DI(First attempt at Cat) and screwed it up royally....how I wish I can go back in time(Nov 24 to be precise ) and redo Verbal....

Anyways, I managed to convert my only call from SPJain...thankfully they r a bit easy on the Cat scores...am joining coz I dont think I can afford to wait one more year

The thing that I learnt from my cat experience is that one cannot be too confident/Unconfident (whats the right word here?I have racked my brains for 5 minutes trying to find the opposite of confident)about any section...each section has to be treated as a separate test
