i am the first one to post here. got the letter a couple of minutes back. we can introduce ourselves here. me shishir narula. final yr student at ip university. have a job in hand but am 90% sure that would join mib, had 96.17 %ile.
guys if anyone of u have any knowledge about the course, its prospects and the summers scene plz post that too. delhihites we can always meet before the official date of joining.

i am waiting 4 the imt-mib results....i havent got it yet...will give a call on monday...my %ile 93.73....good gd and pi....lets see what happens...btw congrats cattac...hope to c u an g'bad !!

I have been trying to call them since morning..but of no avail !!...anyways it will take other2-3 days 4 letter to reach my place (thanx to place i stay).............BUT REGARDING ''MIB'' COURSE one doesn't have enough idea

1) this will be 2nd batch ...so its hard to determine the placements 4 mib

2) the fees 4 mib is higher than regular pgdbm by 1lakh....its 5.15 lakh

these two issues r needed to be kept in mind before joinin....

i have given a lot of thought abt dis.the extra 1 lakh is not a prob.
i dont think placements vil b a prob as long as mr. kamal nath is there
imt has a very good rep,so i m taking this up after a lot of research & advice

thanks pal & congrats 2 u 2.i dunno wat i screwed up in kj.didnt get thru but its ok.have taken up IMT G as it was my 1st choice after i did a lot of research & verified about MIB.
wens KJ starting?tab tak kya plans hain?
wish u had taken MIB 2.
wud have been gud 2 have gr8 company.

Posted the below message in a separate thread But needed some urgent advise. So posting it again here

It has been now 18 months for me in TCS. I passed Btech in 2003

I have got final selection call from MIB ( IMT ). Need to make my decision in 1 week. They are asking for about 1.2 lakh as non refundable fees to confirm the seat.

The first batch of MIB ( Master in International Business ) started last year. So they are now in first year only. So no news of placment for MIB. Only speculations can be made.

The flagship program of IMT , PGDBM has average placement of 5.9 written on their site.
So assuming the placement of MIB happens with PGDBM, average salry must go to around atleast 4.

The course of MIB is good ( as I see it in brochure )

Help me to make a decision. I need to do this in 1 week


Age as of now is no barrier ( 1 or 2 years delay is O.K. for IIMs )

But then who in the forum is 100 % confident to track IIMs next year ( May be worser than today )


And if you see it in this way .. Joining MIB this year. Getting a job of around 4.5 ( which is very much possible considering IMT's reputation and my 18 months experience )
Working for 1 year and then switching job and getting 6.5.

This would as I would get if I get through IIM next year.

In the former case, I would have 1 year xtra experience.

Some Serious thoughts pls

And one more help.

Was the HR batch of IMT which placed itself this year was the first batch ??
And what was the highest, median and average, minimum salaries for HR batch and PGDBM batch ?

What the real figures for salary ( Every institite including IIMs boast their salaraies BUt as of now concerned with only IMT ) ??

the highest is 8.2(hr) average as told by insti is
pgdbm bw 5.5 and 6
hr bw 6 and 6.5
mind u these figures are from institute obviously embellished.
ya hr's first batch came out this year.
