Confused between Job and MBA - 13-04-2003, 11:36 PM

Hi guys,

some background on me:

1- engg in comp. sc. 2002

2- working as s\w trainee

i have an offer from a comp. which requires me to relocate and sign a bond for 2 years...the comp will be be paying well...however, this puts a spanner into my preperation for MBA this year...i have been studying for the past 2 months and taking classroom coaching...now if i relocate i will have to leave the coaching and do whatever prep i can on my own....also...i may not have much time to study after a day long job ( with stay backs and unrealistic project deadlines)....

at the same time i do not want to leave this break as it is very difficult to get a decent job in software...

hey guys suggest me on this...

Just two hours of daily preparation over a period of time is enough for CAT. So you have remaining 22 hours to spare. Anyway you can't peep in to your CAT material for more than three-four hours. That will have a serious impact on your efficiency and concentration. As such I feel the Job will not hamper your chances of getting in to an IIM. in fact it'll give you an insight about management and equip you to appreciate the course better. And Work ex is always an added advantage as for as IIMs are concerned.

So the Case @ point is Signing the Bond for two years. That depends on where you stand now. If you are sure that u can get through CAT this year against all odds going ahead with the preparations will be fine. Otherwise you can take up the job and start building the fundaes....
