Pardon my ignorance, but why would there be so many calls for about 250 seats?

dude coz there will be overlaps with IIM A and IIM B.i have heard that final calls send by IIM B is 350-400 and IIM C is 400-450.but with increase in seats in IIM B it should obviously go up.
is there a possibility of IIM C coming out with results soon as they have completed their process?

one very nice thread i came across is 'IIM final call getter profile'

http://www.pagalguy.com/cat/showthread.php?t=3321 (Profile of People who have Converted their IIM Calls!)

here ppl getting final calls frm IIMs have rated their performance in PIs and GDs and have mentioned their profile includin CAT percentiles and academics...

@ Rinku - history says tht all the IIMs usually declare results within 1-2 days... so i dont think tht IIMC is going to come out with resuls much earlier than the rest

I dont think iimb gives that many final calls, but iimc does. cos iimc doesnt have a wait list while iimb does

Final calls expected around 15th April (+- a few days) - got this confirmed from our admissions chairperson.

Regarding number of final seats at IIMK - it still requires some sort of ministry clearance or something, so the scene is not clear.

People getting calls to SPJain and MDI and paying up fees will have to ditch their money if they get the IIM calls and take it. It happens every year..so do think through.. maybe u can save some money if u are really confident of converting some call .

Otherwise, its still worth leaving the 2 lacs to get into an IIM (there are many ppl here who will testify to this )

cheers

i think u mean 15 people per 0.01 percentile. Then, yes you are accurate. With 150000 people writing cat this year, that amounts to 1500 people per percentile and 15 people per 0.01 percentile

But further, assuming the bell-shaped graph of normal distribution, there obviously will be far lesser 100 %ilers n huge nos. of ppl on same %ile as we go down the scoring scale... practically speaking, every person getting XX.XX marks will get same %ile, so there will be jumps in %iles (meaning, the %ile 'function' wont be a continuous one :P)
