the date sheet is not out as yet.. but most prob the mains will start around 12th april and end around 30th. so i'll start preparing for CAT im may.. not b4 tht.

i'v heard a lot abt the TIME test series.. i'll take tht this yr. last time i took the IMS simcats.they too r good splly VA

Hey Amrita great wrk babes. Well as per ur Q regd. the prep my personal experience says go lite durin da 1st few mths and last 3or4 mths dependin on ur prep go rock solid. As far da IMS material goes the BRMs r at best ambulatory. I wud suggest u either take CL or Time material as they hv gud practice Qs. As far as daMocks go IMS is PHODU. The level is pretty tough. But wat I also plan 2 do myself is join 2 or 3 Mock CAT series. Will give more practice & scope. For Vocab start crammin the Barons by makin a lexicon of ur own out of the book. I know it's tough but treat it like a medicine. U'll have 2 do it. Once u do it ur comprehension will automatically go top notch. Start readin Novels and just in case u r an avid reader of pulp fiction just go for it. If ur nt much of a reader plz 4 heaven's sake don't go in for the high fundoo stuff (like psychology or some other shit) as it will put u off frm readin very badly. Form a habit and then maybe in between 2 Novels read a biography of a business leader like Lee Iaccooca. This will help as u will recognize the words and start comprehendin it better. Think this much of gyan is enuff for 1 session.
PPL lets strt puttin our queries & ans them 4 each other. Tht is the use of this forum. My query is how 2 go abt QA. Me six feet under in QA Guys & gals any help or suggestion ?????

Hi Soumya, u already a genius yaaar. BCS MATHS HONS. Man tht's rockin. For u QA wud be chickenfeed. Gimme some tips abt maths. Wat 2 do Wat nt 2 do. Also which CL center hv u joined????

Totally agree with u dude. CAT cud be tamed with 3-4 mths of Hard Work. Also ur stlye of learnin Vocab is the best ,the only hitch I personally find is tht u need 2 keep a routine wherein u need 2 revise the words also. Also wat u said abt RC is true the more u read the more u get better at it. Just 2 add on to it the best way of is to do the sectional tests which r timed. This will bring in a sense of urgency in ur readin. Hey TP got sum tips for QA also??? Eagerly awatin for them.

Hi all.


Its Anuj i am an engineer from NSIT and managed around 95%this yr (RC:60, Quant:98.xx, Di:95.xx), without much of a preparation though (as Saurabh could understand ) Well i wrote the sections so that ppl could understand my weakness and suggest me a way to rectify it. RC. i blundered it big time. So pls tell me if you know some concrete ways to improve RC. Will be joining TCS in july .

As for test i think Time mocks are worthless, They are so tough that that you loose all the confidence even without starting. In 2 3 Time mocks i gave i scored 6 to 8 in Quant but in actual CAT i got 19.33 in Quant. Think bfore joining Time

hi to all ya folks . well vikhyaat u never read my msg correctly. i had already written that im solvin that test at ptindia.com which is a timed test. also ive loads of material so wat i do is i do atleast 3-4 rcs a day also and mind u these r timed tests which i impose on myself. and im improving .

regarding maths well initially i used to thk that the institutes material were sufficient for our practice . yaa to an extent it is true as i ve material of 2-3 institutes. but lately ive read some books and found them intersting so thought to suggest it to u folks. well u will have ur own views but i thk these books r gud enuf

hey guys just tell me do u think its the rite time to start doin tests n all that stuff
as far as my understanding goes i think last 4-5 months r enuf 4 it moreover if u start doin all these things rite now u will reach a stage getting bored of all these things
i think we sud start reading a newzpaper , magazine (like et,bw or anyone )
n stress on only ur weaknesses if u've analysed it by the time
this is the time to go 4 ur swot analysis so dat u can strategize accordingly in coming cats
