What ur percentile and break up man.. cause I too have only Cal.. and ur the first person i ve come across whose got just the one.. i got a 99.16.. di 95.55 quant 96.35 eng 98.35

i agree with kailashsoni that the process hasnt started yet but just thought would add that i have just calcutta as well...

First of all congrats for getting a call from IIMC .. I had also had a single call from IIMC and guess what..................................... I converted it ... both PGDM and PGDCM. so give it ur best shot..and do not worry.

great boss!!!! u converted the only call u had . well, i got my IIMC GD on march 14 at 2 pm at delhi. i m an elect engineer & have been working as a s/w engineer for the last 18 months. pls provide thoda sa gyaan about IIMC, like some prominent faculty members, some famous alumni & anything else that u think sets IIMC apart from others. this wud b of immense help to all of us.

hi everyone.... just coming out of the interview hall.... was kinda unexpected.... very cool.... and wats more - not a single question on quants or stats!!! guess every iim is changing their strategy this year...first we find out A has stopped killing ppl this time... and now, C has stopped asking math! hope its not just my case...anyway, here's the whole thing....
A little on me first.B tech Final yr EEE at NIT Trichy. Cat percentile 99.80.
Quants:98.66 DI:99.66 Verbal:97.75. 6 calls.
C interview was at Chennai

Gd- 9 ppl per group. 3 panel members. one female. don't know if any was alumnus( usually C has them) cos they didn't introduce themselves.
3 mins to think.(they didn't give paper.we had to take it out.so keep blank sheets), 10 mins to talk. then each person summarises, 1 min each. but the moderator will ask any random person to summarize one aftre the other.(as in, not in the order of sitting)

Topic was - "Any education other than Professional education is a waste of time". I started. made one or two points but then another guy took over. Then it was mostly ok with almost all of us speaking but no one speaking sense. for 5 mins we were discussing wat prof education means. then couldn't reach a consensus and moved on. Few examples but overall 60 % content 40% repetition and almost 1/3rd of the time was multiple speakers but all tht is expected. I was asked to summarize first. shocked first, then mumbled something for a min and then he put me outta my plight by saying 'thank u'.
but then almost everyone screwed up the summary.

Was first in order of seating so was called in for interview first.I'l just list out the questions now - G1(guy 1), G2(guy 2) and F(female)

G2 : How do u think was the GD?
I:fart
G2: You spoke in the beginning but couldn't really get to talk a lot in the middle. Why?
I:fart
G2:Why management(ha. wat a surprise!!)
I:fart again. ALways wanted to bcome one. IIM C will give me d impetus blah blah.
G2:Why did engineering then. Why not history or something.
I:bcos i suck at everything else). sir cos i'm good at it and it will give me the competitive edge etc etc.
F:Wat exactly do u think will u learn in IIM C?
F:where do u see urself 5 yrs from now?
I:talked a lot. gave example of HLL.
G1:Is anything wrong with HLL now.
I:falling revenues.
G1:who r their competitors?
I:P&G, Cavin Care, and Amway! (had no idea abt anything else)
G1:How did Cavin Care eat up their market?
I:no idea sir.
Fk, define success(i had mentioned tht word while answering some previous ques)

G2:diff between success and perfection.

G1:Who is the most sucessful person u know?
I:Sir, its a very individualistic term. U need to know abt tht person. I wud say my father.blah blah.
G2h!where did he do his management from?
I:He didn't sir.
G2:and he was still successful? then wy do u want to do management (how predictable)
I:sir, the definition of success varies from person to person. dad did wat he wanted to. i want to do management.
G1:any siblings?

G1:Wildlife photography?where have u done it. wat camera do u have.(i had written that as my passion and interest)

G2:Literary events?which ones.(had them in my achievements)

F:do u read? wat all?
I:same ma'am. abt wildlife and a lot of travelogues.(ha! caught u there. now ask me questions from it )
F: i don't know anything abt that. so, forget it.

G2:ur college has a grading system. how do u calculate ur CGPA(sir v don't. v leave it to destiny)
I:sir, weighted average.....
G2:No no. do it on this paper and show.
I:yes sir. (took my two best gpas and worked on that years cumulative gpa)
G2:Thank u. U can go.

I:sir, one clarification. The form says final yrs gotta attest only by college princi or registrar or HOD. I couldn't cos i saw it yest after coming to chennai. so got it from a gazetted officer. But all my marksheets are attested by my registrar. I'm sorry.
G2:when was the form given.
I:a month backsir(don't remem. but i opened it yest only)
G2:that reflects very negatively on ur side.
I:but sir, I accepted my mistake, told u abt it and did watever amends i cud do. I'm sorry.
G2:there's nothing u can do. ok. thank u. (gives a 'now get the f*** out expression')

it was ok but there was no tech(though i'm a fresher). not that i feel bad abt it, but a feel good interview is never a very transparent one. so, keeeping fingers crossed. and nothing more. bye.

The first batch at Bombay today. Most of us had taken the pgdcm test yesterday. 3 panels, 10 students each.

GD : Can India compete with China or some such. Usual ideas, stuck pretty much to the manufacturing sector... till someone brought up agri right at the end. Pretty thanda GD, people were waiting for others to finish... hardly eny "please lemme finish" stuff.

Me in final year Electrical Engineering, Mumbai Univ.

PI : Me was the last to go in. 2 panelists... as I walked in... "whats ur height" .. "er please sit in that chair... I'm just 5"5"

Pretty mature interview.... acad stuff was very practical, related... load estimation, metering, billing etc. This panel was intent on knowing what our reading habits were.... and it was back to ol Somerset Maugham again (Moi : ' I've done my usual quota of pulp.. ditch those... these are the authors I appreciate... '. the two of em were pretty happy abt that )...

Then a nice disc about my career goals, where the MBA fit in. I was pretty blunt throughout... no yak yak... hope it works the right way

The 20 minutes or so passed on pretty quick, they wanted to know more about ya.. one got the feeling. Dunno admit milega ya no, but I kinda liked the experience.

Next up.... Indore on Wednesday........
