Hi man!!!

Yaar by Gaon i meant to emphasis even how dear that city to me too, not in the other sense...

basically I am not from jaipur...i have done my schooling from ajmer and after that I am in bombay...but my family is living there for last 10 years...so i visit jaipur many a times...that's my small kundali..

Abt coaching classes....man i have a diffenent view abt that....
actually I have taught at CL for nearly a year for IIT-JEE, and during that time I interacted with a number of MBA-coaching teachers and students....what I realised that it dose'nt matter to which coaching institute u joins...what matters most is who all are the people ur competing with!!!!
Competition (which keeps u motivated) and stydy material these are the only things for which one goes to any coaching institute.
Regarding material I think there is no one institute which is good enough for all the subjects, and one have to hunt it from different resources.

About motivation, what I feel is that we are not children who have to be spoon feed and kicked to it. It is up to urself to be motivated otherwise we just can't do it....every year lakhs of students fill forms for CAT and IIT-JEE, etc...but how many prepare for it seriously??? I don't think even 10% of total applicants consider it seriously. Then why they filled the forms, cause most of the people they know are doing so!!!!

So if someone is self motivated then he just have to sit down and study and he will him-self find the competition (I can't think there will be any better place than PG to give such a good and healthy competition, we all are just pulling each other, atleast trying to, so that we all can make it together, That's great!!!!!)...then why to go for any coaching classes.

Therefore, I am not going to join any classes and will join SIMCAT series of IMS and AIM CAT of Time, both of these clashes at 8 times, but atleast at other 10 times I can evaluate myself from my Time scores, and will give CL and other classes papers at home. If I am self motivated, I will be able to give my best shot and if I am not then I should'nt be exepecting anything.

ankit

PS: Here I might be contradicting views of many people but please junta these are my views only and I am not telling anyone anything, this is just what i feel.

Quant Topics - 22-04-2005, 10:36 AM

Hi all,

The following topics are the ones which I believe are the most imp in Quant :
  1. Number System (including HCF,LCM n stuff)
  2. Time & Work
  3. Co-ordinate Geometry & Mensuration
  4. Averages & Alligation
  5. Profit & Loss
  6. A.P, G.P,maxima-minima etc etc
  7. Trignometry
The above topics + idhar-udhar haath paav maarna= 95+ %ile in quant in CAT
My suggestion would be to tackle the above first and gain proficiency in them. Stuff like Time & Distance, SI n CI is very calculation intensive and you may not even solve em most of the times.
Probability ..... depends a lot on your aptitude (mine was zilch in it )

Infact I would even say tht once you are comfy wid these topics, chuck quant n just keep on working on these

Bang on ankit it doesn't matter which class u join or even which test series u join its all abt how do u study n most importantly how do u perform n the D-day. the coaching classes can't predict everything they simply cant. i had joined TIME last yr and there was not a single AIMCAT like wat we had on 21st Nov 2004(actual CAT). n this time as IIMs are not gonna conduct CAT we shall expect something very different thing this november
wat say bhailog??

BE PATIENT. IT PAYS
