How is PGPF from IFMR - 10-03-2005, 02:43 AM

Hi mates

I got selected for both PGDBM and PGPF prorgams of IFMR. Pals, I would like to know if any of the PGites are aware of the 1 year PGPF program. It appears to be tailor made and designed for ICICI and other FIs in the areas of Treasury and Portfolio Management, Advanced Financial Instruments and stuff like that. Costs Rs 410,000/- for 1 year. Can anybody from IMFR or others can provide some info, whether it is worth taking a risk at a high cost?

I've heard that the PGPF is a very intensive course and a very good one too... this is what a couple of friends of mine doing the IFMR PGDBM told me. Seems the placements are really good. Don't have any first hand info from a PGPF student though..... will keep you posted if I find out. Please do check from other sources too. Congrats and good luck!

hi guys i too have made it to pgdm . still left with kj som , nmims and waiting for nirma final results. but i m taking ifmr because of the quality of placements here. moreover outlook ranks it above kj som and nirma. my chances of making it to nmims r thin because of my rank. ie 349

Hi Talk2teenz

Thanks 4 UR feedback on PGPF. I was impressed by the course content. But I was not sure about the placements. The current batch seems to be the first batch and so far placements havn't taken place. I have requested for a meeting with the course director on Monday to get more details. I am also planning to meet one or two of the current batch students. I will be graetful if you can collect some information from anybody who knows about the coarse. As the investment is abt 4.5 Lakhs I want to be absolutely sure that it is worth it. The risk element is too high!

hi ihavtheguts - 11-03-2005, 09:26 AM

Hi

with a merit rank of 349 you have a very bright chance of making it with even an average performance in GD/PI. Out of the first 200 or so rank holders about 40-50% may not even attend the GD/PI. Anyway as you need to pay only 20000 bucks it makes sense to reserve ur seat in IFMR. ATB to you.

hi - 11-03-2005, 01:57 PM

hi Komala,
even my kj somaiya GD/PI is left but i think i will pay the security deposit of 10k and then wait for kjs result. according to me IFMR is better than sdm imd specially in finance.

Ifmr Is Much Better Than Sdm Imd. According To My Mentors At Pt Chandigarh Ifmr (finance) Is Better Than Kjs On Any Given Day If U Look At Quality Of Education. Believe Me If You Want To Make Ur Career In Finance Ifmr Is The Best Of Your Options
