suzie: why should anyone be concerned abt. positive notings made of a professional, as this helps others to take an informed decision. and in any case, this is not a forum to pit one class or it`s faculty against the other. what we need is info. flowing. decision to join or not join a particular class is purely personal, whose rational others are not interested in Knowing.

I had heard that with a nett score of about 55+ one can expect a call from either one of the IIMs, is this true?

also, do u have any idea about what the threshold / cutoffs in each section? bcoz i seem to score well in verbal and loose out in mathematics, i am therefore planning to attempt 10-12 Qs in analytical / DI and get them all correct, is this such a good idea ?

No news from ur end regards y`days CAT. Can we expect some responses here too????

I did manage to do well in the everchanging CAT.

My net sec. scores (post checking with several answer keys) are around:

VERBAL: score of 28.
QUANTS: score of 18.
DI: score of 13.

all sec scores: 59.

if all goes fine, and subject to the coaching inst. informing us of the correct trend for sec. cut-offs, i shld atleast get calls from a few iims.

hey guys: hw are u going to prepare for gd/pi`s which will now be quite important as many will bunch around a certain bandwidth (50 to 55). I have enrolled for GD/PI grooming with Prof. Kamat. I met him personally couple of months back. He has 10 yrs. exp in grooming students for gd/pi with very high levels of success. Last year 24 of his students made it to the IIMs. He is an HR professional and conducts classes in Mumbai & Pune. He personally grooms all his students and is a one man show with loads of commitment and knowledge. His leaflets were given at my centre y`day. I will also be attending the IMS gd/pi session for successful studs who get calls (provided i do get ....)

In any case. lets be in touch now on this thread to post what are our plans now.

How many of you are giving NMAT/SNAP & XAT??? I am appearing for SNAP/XAT.

Hi guys

Hope ur two hours on Nov 20 were good!

I wanted to know if any of you has started off with prep for round II - because the coaching institute I am registered with (TIME) is not planning to start with any prep before Jan. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that although these institutes are good to give you good practise for GDs & PIs, but they might not give you gyaan in any specific fields. So we might need to bank on some individual Professors/experts who have been training in this fields for some time and who can give small tutorials about different topics.
e.g. - Current status of Indian manufacturing industry, comparison vis-a-vis China etc. etc. - I don't think many of us would be having much idea about this stuff - and such a ques. was asked to a normal IT graduate last yr in the interviews.

I found mention of a Prof. Kamat (by Sailor83). Guys, if anybody else also knows anybody like him, please let us all know. You could also PM me his/her contact details.

check NIA in pune. very reputed institute in the financial sector specially in booming insurance sector( growing by above 15-20% compared to Gdp growth of 7-8%). top class infrastructure and faculties. director is former S.p.jain director, IRDA member,advisiory to RBI, on boards of many big companies, visiting faculty to harvard and other colleges in US. Pgp co-ordinator is in advisiory to finance ministry. this institute does not publicize much. celebrating its silver jublee. institute has been running MBA for only two years. placements are good for first batch min 4lacs to max 6.5 lacs so far. 31 students in first batch and 60 offers so far. summers are also good stipend 20k/month and minimum 10k/month. check the web link http://www.niapune.com/mba/index.htm
