Hi Ashish and Ananyaa,
Well Since its only the second batch which will be starting in 2005-2006 its hard to tell what kind of placements it will be able to achieve . I had a word with my father and he says that the first 4-5 batches would have no problems in terms of placement as the candidates might be absorbed by national Insurance itself . The institute also has a tie up with other insurance companies like oriental and new india so both of these companies would be hiring as well . The starting salary for a entry level management professional in National insurance is 2.75 to 3.2 lakhs .
Should one go for the Course ? To be honest it would take a lot of character to join it ,bcos i feel at 5lakhs the course is too expensive and the returns too unknown at this moment . but if you feel like its best for you there is no harm in going for the "Road less taken ....."
What are the other options both you have at your disposal ? Can you tell me your CAT scores and other calls .
even my Cat Score is not that great and i am option less at this moment.
I am working in ICICI prudential life insurance co as a Unit Manager. i am getting a package of 2 lacs p.a.
i dont think i would be worth if i join at the same post and almost same package after two years that too after spending 5 lacs.
I am very cluless at this moment.
by the way how would NIA be in comparison to ICFAI hyd.
Hey mayank can u help me a bit more after knowing my profile.Plz try to find it out from your father that, will it be the same designation like UNIT MANAGER in ICICI pru that one will get after passing out from National insurance academy.
If you are a unit manager you should be looking at the elite B-School yaar ,stop thinking about NIA and ICFAI . How have you faired in the other exams ? Even my CAt score isn't that good ,especially in the Quanta section Thats why MDI turned me down .
Coming back ICFAI is a whole lot better than NIA .
Bye
