Hello friends ya we were busy bcoz we were not india ...we had gone to singapore for few days of study tour..it was awesome tour...the experience which we got there was imense...The IMF director (RTI) of south east asia took our lecture..many leading insurance company head came to take our lecture like of prudential, IL &FS we went to see singapore sea port which was great learning experience for us...chalo tab bye friends now all of us leaving for our summer training..bye

Congratulations for all those who made it to the NIA this year. I got a call at 92.26%ile but was not able to attend the call. Anyways I have got a final admit to IFMR chennai (Where i saw the magazine of NIA SOM). I wish to express my thanks especially to Deepakraja and to all those seniors who helped me during the past 3/4 months..

All the best to the 2k8 batch. We will be seeing each other in a lot of competitions for the next two years.

Pune’s history just got richer. Thanks to the arrival of a horseshoe-shaped coffee table called the Lloyd’s Box from Lloyd’s of London, the oldest insurance marketplace in the world, at the National Insurance Academy.

The consignment weighing 4,300 kg, shipped at a cost of Rs 6-7 lakh, arrived at the NIA campus last week and has filled up most of the Greenleaf room, named after former AT&T chairman who introduced the concept of servant-leadership management principle. It was around one of these tables — there were two originally — at Edward Lloyd’s coffeehouse that the insurance market started in 1688 in London.

While Lloyd was only the proprietor of the coffeehouse, it was flocked by seafarers, and the story goes that he supplied them with reliable shipping news. The shipping industry community frequented the place to discuss insurance deals among themselves.

The tradition of doing business around the coffee table stuck and it officially became the Lloyd’s Box when the new building — Lloyd’s Building in London — came up. The managing agent would sit at the centre of the box and represent the member of the Lloyd’s syndicate in the trading ring. The racks and drawers (rectangular boxes) were used to store the policy documents, which will be shipped to the institute later, according to NIA director K C Mishra.

I am happy that those who visited NIA for their interviews are satisfied with the infrastructure and atmosphere, but I can assure you equally about the quality of education, innovations at work, freedom for experiments and achievments. i am sure that new batch will take NIA-SoM to new hieghts.

one thing i want to tell you is, you all should make your mind about what you want to do after 2 years, 6 years, and then after 10years from now and how to achieve that. once this is clear, you can easily use NIA-MBA as platform to achgieve that.

Hello frendz....currently we all r into our summer projects...its tough days for us...we rr busy in our respective companies,we will be coming back on around 16th june onwards.
If anyone is getting good discount then u sud purchase d laptop or else waite and take it here in pune (u can get discount on bulk purchase)
u donot need to come with anything except few things rest of things will b provided in NIA like bed sheets, blankets, towels etc.books will also be provided by college
