You have raised a preety valid question...let me try and answer that from my personal experience...
Yes, we do miss the 'campus life' that is a part of any residential b-school, yet we do have our share of 'fun' all the time. About your point on camparing the course with any 'normal degree', I respect the views made by our alumni but i guess that should not be generalised to all. Our faculties are way above any of the schools which fall in the same category
(Have a look at this link). One more point which i have felt throughout my journey is that the way of learning is very unique in the sense that our teachers never 'force' us to learn, instead we learn ourself...(i really can't explain this more) something you can only experience.
There are areas which need to be looked upon, given this a very old & traditional institution, the process of which has already begun. At the end of the day I am proud to be a part of this great institution.
But still i suggest you rate a school based on your parameters and not just go by my words...
