Hi Guys
I see that a lot of you have doubts about the Reco letters so I will just post some of my views about the whole thing

1) I am not very sure that recos are a big part of the selection process. But do not do a shady job on them because its not worth taking a chance. So do your best but do not take unnecessary tensions.

2) It makes sense to take a reco from someone who knows you well. And that usually turns out to be a prof in your college. I think a very good combination would be 2 letters from profs and 1 from your company( If u av 1 year of work-ex) or even 3 from your college would do. On the other hand if u av like 3 or more years of work-ex than u can think of taking more from your company

3) Try not to take it from relatives or people who do not know u well.

Best of Luck

Hey Rohit..its good you started a separate thread.....

Neways about the recos

1. If I get it from my company....which has got more value..a supervisor's who has known me and is in direct touch with me and my work...or from a Project Manager who is in touch with my work but not directly in touch with me.......both are only too willing to give me a reco

2. Can I get the recos written by a friend of mine and get it signed by the prof as somebody mentioned ..if I wrote it my handwriting would give me away.......
