In general, the gals were wearing either a salwaar suit or shirt-trousers-coat... a few came in sarees too...
U can select a dress as per ur complexion, figure & ease but a BIG no-no to short shirts/Ts/jeans...

All in all, wear something in which u can carry urself well & appear confident... by that i mean if ur wearing a saree / salwaar suit, make sure that it's simple, sober & looks gud on u... tht's it...

Remem: ur goin there for a b-skool int & not an advertising job int... so ur dress shud give a sense of a business executive ...

BOL...

Thanks to all the folks who've posted their experiences... really interesting.. or even downright scary, like Kanishka's... . Hoping things work out fine on the 12th for yours truly. Btw, does everybody go thru a Psychometric test? Or is it only for the candidates who clear the first round?
Am scared silly at times.....

I think only those who clear the first round of GIs get to take the psychometric test.

I am from SRCC and opting for finance.I have also heard that once you got a final call from S.P jain , it is not necessary that they may offer you the same specialistion as you had desired.Is that true? However, I have also got a call from IRMA AND worrying how to justify to both the institutes about my preffered choice of specilisation (i.e. finance in one and rural in the other)

I forgot to xerox my application from.... I read in the forum that they cross check what you have written in your app form.... Does it mean that they want us to recall from memory what we have written or do they just ask question based on what we have written?

Hello all, its time to narate my experience in SPJ ….



I had my interview today (its already past 12, so I wouls rather say yesterday), it was scheduled for 9.30.

Out of the 6 from my batch, 1 was for IM (myself), 3 were for Marketing & 2 were for Finance.

4 with work-ex, including me & remaining 2 freshers.



GI 1:

The panel consisted of 3 people. One Finance prof, one HR lady & a student.

This was a casual interview where I think the panel looked for communication skills and whether ur replies are consistent with your application form. Work-ex guys can expect some straight forward questions abt their work ….. they asked us abt our hobbies, so make sure you have enough knowledge of your hobbies & interests.

I was quite satisfied after the GI.



Results were declared within ½ hr …. 4 people with work-ex were selected & 2 freshers were out.



MAT:

We were taken to a room where we needed to write the MAT test. It consisted 55 personal questions, few self appraisal questions and a few questions abt ur academics, extra curricular activities… Note that u need to be fast in answering these questions. Just make sure u r consistent in ur answers.



GI 2:

2 guys from the previous batch & 2 more from another batch were coupled together for this GI. We had one fresher in our group who had opted for marketing. This was a more serious kind of discussion.

The panel consisted of 3 people. One was some bigshot of the college. Some HOD I guess. Other was a retired brigadier. Third was a student.

We were asked to discuss on the topic “We are more privileged than our parents. Do you agree ?” The discussion went for around 10 min & then we were asked questions based on what we said. They will try to make u agree that whatever u had said in the discussion was not correct by giving some justification. And make note that those justification will be valid in the real world. You have to make sure that whatever u say, u should be able to justify that. Later, each & everyone was grilled by the military guy on our values.

After the GI, I am not as confident as I was after round 1. I could have done better, but its history now ….



After some time, they took us for the Online test. This is king of psychometric test. This is pretty straightforward & u should have no issues in answering that. There is no wrong answers here. So be frank in ur opinion.



End of a grilling day ….. Me not so confident abt myself …. lets hope for the best when the results are out …..
