are v given a choice between both? or is it mandatory 2 take up both the subjective and objective tests??????

my interview experience:
had an appt for 3pm on the 29th...reached at 230...registered....at exactly 3pm, me n 5 others wer called for our 1st round...2 freshers, 4 of us wid work ex...i was the only female in my group...3 guys had opted for fin, 1 for IM, 1 for operations and me for marketing...3 ppl on the panel 2 of who wer askin most of the questions...1st we all had to give an intro...sthing that v hvent already mentioned in the form...next each person was asked questions on the form for bout 10-15 mins...i was 1st asked "y marketing" then grilled on my work ex only...3rd guy on the panel ended up askin jus 1 question n that was directed to me again work related... we had to then go back to registration room...within 30 mins results anounced...2 of us had got thru...me and a fresher...he had very good acads(consistent) had cals from K,I,fms and had already given the mdi int his cat score 99.sthing, mine 94.38
2nd round again a group of 6...3 on the panel only 2 askin questions... this time each 1 of us asked for a 1min intro...1st question put to us: should parliamentary proceedings be aired live? not a gd... each one had to answer wen asked...one of the interviewers also stopped a guy who was facing us and talkin to look at the interviewers while answerin...very chill atmosphere like friends meeting up to talk bout stuff...2nd question: does a sense of humor require a high IQ level?
one of the girls in this panel had written 'extrovert' on her form so she was asked the defn..then each of us wer asked if v agree/disagree
3rd Q: if a leader from the 1950s or 60s was brot back to rule/lead r country who wud it be...had 2 secs to answer it...then asked to justify
i dont thin i've misd out anything here...cant recollect everything
then had to move on n take the MAT(written)...bout 50-55 questions...subjectiv type...ur likes dislike, ppl's perception bout u, goals n how u plan to achieve em etc...then a 1 hr online test with 5 options for each situation n rate em 1-5...all rounds for me ended by bout 8...results by feb end or march(so v wer told)...pretty tirin after those tests but at least its over

What if someone really doesnt have something to say apart from the form. U might have seen cases like this?

As for ur query regarding u have nothing to say other than teh form .......there were people like that but the panelist repeatedly mentioned something OUTSIDE the form.........so invent something if u dont have nething..............safe to say ur qualities, ur career goals or something relevant

The Gd was kinda like the IIM one with they not interfering at all

I hope that answers ur query

ATB to all u guys

GI experience! - 01-02-2005, 09:40 AM

I reached there at 11:00 & got myself registered (you have to notify the student panel & they will crosscheck u with the photograph u have provided). There were around 100 students called for the interview.
After waiting for 3 hrs, my interview started at 2:00 PM.

Round1: GI1
Applicants: 3 OR, 2 IM (myself & a girl from TCS), 1 Fin (a girl from ICICI). ALL 2+ work ex
Prof: 1 Finance prof & Dr. Matoo

Started with the usual introduction by each one of us followed by Qs specific to one's form. The Qs were generic & all they wanted is candidate's opinion about some issue or liking s/he has shown.
This later moved on to the usual qs. Some were asked Why SP & others were asked Why MBA or Why U...

All in all the faculty panel was very coordial & pleasant. Everyone was asked about 3-4 Qs & the interview ended in ~40 mins. At the end i could sense that the panel was quite happy with our performance.

Round 2: Online Psycho test
This is the worst thing that cud happen to anyone... 56 Qs (each had around 6-7 lines) to be done in 60 mins. Testing the same trait thru diff situations. The best way & only way is to be the actual u without even thinking that u have come for an interview.

After this results were announced & 4 of us were selected (2 OR, 1 IM (myself) & 1 Fin girl)

Round 3: GI 2
we were joined by 1 guy for OR & 1 girl for Mkt.
The panel (2 prof & 1 from student's panel) was quite cool but more serious than the previous one. We were again asked to introduce ourself & then it proceeded with very very generic Qs & our opinions abt them. It appeared they were trying to test our attitude & approach (but this is just my opinion). This round was even shorter than GI1.
Whatever confidence i had gained after the 1st GI was lost after the 2nd GI. They didn't asked much to anyone of us . Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Also, the student panel really worked hard & was very friendly (met krishna, dinesh, abha). InCase u have any prob/query, directly approach them.

missed u there (whts ur name?)... are u sure abt the 2000 calss.... wondering how will they have it in next ~10 interview sessions
I had my GI on 29th. Jan. It was almost similar to above experience.
No GD topic to discuss amongst us in any GI round. All candidates from the first round were shortlisted for second GI round...
The second round of GI was short with 2 questions per candidate. That seems to short a round for any comfort...Then the psychometric tests...2 of them...it really sucks you out !
