hey dude
what were u doing till now.
anyways u can always tell them of ur interest in
investment, shares, how u as a finance manager can look after the
need and use of money for a company .
there must be something that prompted u too take up
finance as ur option. i hope there is and u shld strengthen that part . incase any cross questioning comes up politely tell them that u r a novice in this field and are here to learn.
be genuine, its how u structure ur answers that will probably see
u through.
take care
and all the very best

Well well I had friend who got a call from SPJ for finance, while he was in college doing B Tech. He was send in for GI with guys having some experience in this field and guys who were doing CA and all. He was dead nervous there n then. He was aked some questions on basic finance jargon. Monetray policy of india, budget and GDP etc.. So at least u can go prepared with that I think.

Any real finance fundoos on PG might be able to guide u better

Cheers
SB

I have one small question too... Please enlighten me a little about the psychometric test. And is it that it is not mandatory that someone will have to go thru it

Experience.
Had my interviews on 26 Jan!. ie yday.

Interview session 1:
Was nice and peaceful. started 1 hr later than indicatd. Panel was good. didnt try to screw anybody. Questions were straight forward.
Funda 1: Dont LIe. Just tell them whaterver you are doing/ hv done. DOnt go with a pre conceived notion.. and preconceived ans.
there were two people in my group, who had mugged up all the answs.. and were determined to say it come what may.. so they ended up saying things not at all related to the question. and ofcourse didnt make thru.
Funda 2: First 2 questions are critical. It determines what opinion they will hv abt you. So make sure to give good balanced and concise answers in the first 2 questions.

out of 6 members, 3 got selected for the second round. In other groups, even 4-5 were selected for the second round. A lot depends on your form. Dont recite the same sentences from the form. But dont deviate too much either.

We had an online Psycometry. But the link was down. So they cancelled it.

Then we had lunch. Provided by SP Jain.

Interview session 2:
This was a much more serious session. We sat in a small conference room. 2 memebers in panel.
Again, answer only what is asked. Dont give global gyan. They will see thru very easily. Restrict each answer to well measured 3-4 sentences only. If you give big stories, they will cut you in between.

MAT: psycometry, written, 50 mins, i think 55 questions.
You gotta be fast if you want to finish on time. The trick is to write what comes first to your mind. very simple straight forward questions on likes, dislikes, hobbies, passion, ambition, emergency etc etc. No answ is right or wrong. I think they will see this only if one is a border line case. I think generally its not an elemination round.

There are 2000 short listed candidates. Appx 1200 -1300 will go to the second round. Appx 160 will be given final calls. My guess.

All the best.

Interesting !! - 27-01-2005, 02:33 PM

This is one things that REALLY REALLY puzzled me !!!

Nobody ever checked my certificates.....not even my identity! ........dont know if this is the same case with the other batches....

With what I see, u can actually say nething and get away with it ,PROVIDED u know what u r doing....

hopefully they might verify the certificates of those actually make it to SPJain...but it might be late by then..aint it ??

P.S: Hope this does'nt MIS-guide ppl into bluffing....this post should only boost ur confidence,if not anything...

Hi all!

First post on the forum..though have been a silent spectator for long.

Just wanted to get ur views on y smone with an 88 percentile, good acads and avg extra curriculars would get a call?

No prizes for guessing tht the smone is me. Am concerned coz the kind of ppl posting msgs here seem to be at the other extreme with loads of exp, n much better percentiles.

Anyway, am gonna try n capitalise on my good fortune on 20th Feb.

Anyone on the same slot?

Cheers,

Divya
