[2005]S.P. Jain GD/PI help and experiences

Hey fellas,

Me got into SP Jain 2nd list. Never expected my name to figure in the 2nd list and tht too among 12 names for manufacturing Mnmgt. Atlast the gods have smiled on me.

My profile CAT 98.88, 3.5 yrs work ex, avg acads, BE mech from Mumbai Univ

Thr is only one prob though. I had to confirm my acceptance within 48 hrs and I got the mail on 15th. Since i am in Delhi for my FMS intw, I never hadda chance to check it. Now I av confirmed it only today. I hope they wont reject me due to this.

I contacted this guy in my company who is an SPJ alumnus. He graduated this year(or last year, I have never asked him ). He said that theres a good possibility of three lists.

guys........me also not got a call frm SPJain so far.........
no insti can be sure about the number of ppl that will accept calls......also they will not want to leave their seats vacant........so goin by this logic........they have to cum out with a waitlist........which they will do sooner or later.........
so just be patient ..........
and no point askin ppl and spreadin rumours..........cos ultimately what has to happen will happen........

me in too...86 percentile in Cat and thats as bad as it can get..however good acads and 2 years of work ex in software...but made it somehow..that too in second list
guys any one from pune ?....we cud meet up some time before classes begin.....

SPJ gave me the boot & I cannot find a reason for that though. My profile, acads, essays were gud enuf.

I got some insider info that SPJ has prolly turned down all applicants from my Org regardless of the specialisation they applied for. Its a weird reason - but that seems the only one that fits in.

Pls dont construe this as arrogance, but at times a man knows where he is - and I am pretty sure that all factors (except org) were in place for a convert.

Anyway - time to move-on.

Please please please think twice before making such claims man!!!!!

Answer a simple question plz:
What was SPJ looking for in the candidates?

Theres not ONE person who will be able to answer that. Only the people who decided the criteria (i.e members of the admissions committee) know that!

Cooking up things such as they rejected all the people from one organisation is a bit immature i think.

Dont make such claims unless you have the proof to back it up, and mind you showing that 5 people from your organisation applied and didnt make it is not proof enough!!!!

Im not one to jump in and defend SPJain....but this seemed toooo friviolous a post!!!!

There were around 100+ applicants from my Org & not 1 final convert that I know of. I too would like to believe otherwise - infact that would make things easy to ratinalise.

One never has a 'proof' - but my GI1 had the prof having a go coz too many ppl from my org were wannabes at SPJ & that went on too long for comfort. And then I heard this from someone, so I...

Neway - I know its your word against mine. Apologies to everyone - I didnt wanna raise anymore dust than what this matter deserves. Also - pardone me senor for my frivolous/juvenile thinking.

And to answer your question - maybe the profile of ppl coming from my org wasnt gud enough for SPJ this year as they had better backgnds to choose from. I think thats a reasonable deduction - its the bar that has been set. No hard feelings.

Also - my request - go a lil easy with your words. I am sure thats a request that can be kept.
