this is anupam again.thanks to kartik for clearing up the scenario.but seems like this time its going to be really tight.am placed at waitlist -42 .got a waitlist in other institutes i applied so hopefull tht imi waitlist does clearout. .best of luck to all those who have made it to imi.hopin to be ur batchmate.....

I have browsed through last year's thread and found that calls were given upto at least wl 51, who was a PGite and joined IMI. Learnt that even after that few calls were given. But about 20 candidates were given final call immeditely after the last date for payment last year, while we have not received a second list now. Other than MDI and NITIE, results from other premiier institutes are yet to come. (I may be slightly wrong). My guesstimates witll be about 40-50 candidates are likely to withdraw. That will clear waitlist upto around 50, though it may take time upto April 15th or so. Some among the waitlisted candidates too decide to opt out. Overall there is no reason to get worried at this stage. Let us wait till April 15th to get a final picture. Until then we have to keep ouir fingers crossed. We also need to insure a seat in one of the institutes down the line. In my case I am hoping for UBS. Will be rleieved to some extent if I am through in UBS, results expected aroung 21st. I am sure my other waitlisted friends will also have their options for fallback. My firm opinion is that those with WL numbers less than 35 can rest assured of a seat in IMI. It is only my peronal opinion. Anyway I wish you all the best for my colleagues in the waitlist.

About the PI ..It was really short......acads and acads....There was a professor from Systems, so he asked a lot of questions on it....I have a computer Science background.....essay ..pretty ok..."Innovative ideas will rule the world"...
