The selection process is the most funniest part of CAT. People in Pagal guy threads report like this
"
Name : XYZ
MY acads ... 66% Btech
70 % 12 th class.
70% 10th.
CAT percentile : 99.7 percentile.
Work ex: Some useless company for 2 years
BLACKI.

It is disgusting to read such posts. A person who was not sincere to his studies and work, how the IIMs could expect him to be sincere to be in future is a big mystery. And these people are supposed to be the top managers in India(huh . how funny).
I know who wasted their jobs, and one full year of study just in this rat race. People were so engulfed in preparation , that they even got Fs in the process. And some Cat coaching center managers even gave advices to some ppl whom I knew to quit jobs just for the sake of preparation.
It is better if the IIMs change their way of selecting students. That way they could do much better work. |
Well, I agree that the procedure isn't exactly perfect, but it isn't totally flawed either...
This sounds more like a case of sour greapes to me ( no offense)
And well, coming from Bangalore University, let me tell you- there's absolutely no way that one's "sincerity" towards studies can be judged on the basis of marks alone. |
Yes..it's partly true and partly false..
Lets not blame the process fully, just because we didnt't get it.
Myself got a score of 98.28,have very good acads, studied in RECT,working in a very good MNC for the past 3 and half years....but didn't get any calls...
and am i trying to do MBA for Salary...No.(infact my present Salary is equal to average of IIMB and it'll increase a lot in the next 2 years)
It is just out of passion and aim...
all my colleagues are sad that i didn't get what i deserved...
but thats not partly true...
if we deserve it,then we shd crack it....
we know that the process of selection is going to be like this ..so we shd prepare accordingly and get it...no point in standing out and shouting..
Sorry,if this post sounds a bit out of context....i just cldn't stop cribbing..
