GD/PI Prep - Mumbai

Hi Forum,

I hv been visiting this place for last 2 months and found it very helpful. Since CAT is out of the way now, we should put our head down and prepare for GD/PI.

Though I screwed up in CAT, expecting somewhere in high thirties.
But Career Launcher cutoff list is quite encouraging.

Thought why not hv a GD/PI thread for Mumbai junta - so that we can discuss, ponder and meet often for practicing. Mods - Dont know if any such thread is available, one is there for Blore, but nothing for Mumbai.

Mumbai Junta and others ... Please let me hv ur thoughts on this !!!

one of my friends in IIMC asked to start with
1. Preparing a decent SOP.
2. Read Newpapers.

I am sure there will be threads which gives the GD Topics....

Pagal guy can you please throw more light on this....

Thanx for the reply. Here is a link by IMS, which has listed various GD topics asked over the years at different B-Schools:

However this is for individual content development. But practicing would hv to be done collectively. According to me, best way to prepare for GD is that 5-6 people meet somewhere, with each getting at least one topic with them, and taking chances, each person becomes a moderator and gives his topic to others for GD and so on. Feel practice is equally important as content.

Lets hv everyones views on this.

Yup, it would be good if 5-6 of the Mumbai Guys can meet up and have discussions on various GD/Topics. I would have loved to be a part of it but unfortunately but absolutely no time off in my schedule

However, there are plenty of GD resources on PG to read through.....You guys can use the Search Function and find a plethora of threads.

Apart from these as I said there are a huge number of threads covering GD/PI experiences which should also provide u with some useful info. Just follow the Golden Rule- "Search and You Shall find "

totally agree that we need to get started on the gd/pi asap.
i am kartik a final year engg. student. my exams get over on 3rd and am totally free after that. am expecting a score in the 60s.
why dont u guys post a bit of info abt ur background as well. the sooner we could get started the better.

I am a S/W professional, having 3+ yrs of Work Ex. My basic qualification is BCom with Advance Diploma in Software Engineering. I would be very much interested in having some practice sessions of GD. Guys please throw in ur responses.

Hey mumbai people,

my name is Anuj. came to this forum a month or so back but have been a silent observer for so long.
i just heard from a friend about this insti called insidedge started by some iimb guys. they are conducting a 3 day gd/pi workshop in mumbai from the 8th.
i read aanirvan's post about their session in bangalore and called them up in bangalroe.
u think we could meet up there and kickstart our PG group?

Hi Anuj,

That doesnt seem unlikely. Provide more details like Venue, Timings, etc. We expect more responses from Mumbai Junta - atleast 10 people should be available to form a group.

i didn't ask them so much about the venue etc. all i know right now is that it will be held on the 8th, 9th and 10th of dec in the evening. fees is 1000 per person.
i am cool about the fees because my friend in bangalore is raving about how good it is.

point is i am interested if there is company. We can post stuff that happens like Aanirvan did. have any of u seen his posts on the moving on to gd/pi threads?

lemme kno. we do have some time to decide and form a group.
