I am glad I can see the enthu flowing.....
My exam wasn't exactly rocking but I don't really care right now. I just want to make sure that even if I have jus ONE call (from wherever) I make sure i convert the damm thing.....

One of the things that has been helping me is talking to a lot of current students. seems to have worked wonders for my motivation levels.

One of the things constantly coming out of all the talks I've had with current students is that GK def plays an important role in the GDs as well as the PIs.

According to them we should start off the prep process by devouring the daily newspapers. So I have an idea:

Everyday, one of us has the responsibility of scanning the daily paper (say eco times, TOI) and putting up the important headlines on this thread for everyone to have a look.
A single post a day should be enuf. This way we make sure that all of us know about what's happening even if we don't get a chane to go thru the papers everyday!
Shud take not more than 30 mins of our time I guess....but 30 mins well spent.

I'll kick it off in a day or two...am rushed for time currently...but we'll just have to take time out for making sure we prepare doubly well if we are busy.

Can I have some views?

Cheers,
Sharmili

you can signup here http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...33,right-1.cms for daily news updates.

They will send you mailers with all the headlines with links. You can go through the headlines and pick topics which you want to read in detail.

cheers,

That's a great idea surya...we can pick up headline from here AND post them out here.
this way we can discuss sometings...identify potential GD topics and intv questions.

Only problem with this is commitment. Obv one person can't do it everyday. so we'll require everyone to chip in once in a while. dunno how to ensure that!

Sharmili.

You are correct on this front.

I spoke to a few seniors/friends who are curently in the iims and what they suggested is that irrespective of how we feel we have performed, we should move on with the gd prep.

Keeping in mind the fact that CAt-04 is a diiferent ball game compared to the previous cats, the field this time is going to be wide open.

I just hope that I get atleast one call - pref iima

but then , i have messed up my di badly -

lets hope for the best

and get ahead with the gd/pi prep.

guys, can you please post your aprox expected scores ??

Sanchayan.

Sharmili.
My way of doing it is..

1. You have the list of ppl who r interested in this.
2. Letz list them in Alphabetical order of names.
3. One person will start a topic which he thinks is relevant ( of course from current news ) and the discussion will go on for 3 days.
4. 4th day, the next person will start a new topic.
5. There is always an option to peep into previous topics if someone has something significant to contribute.

So one of us , probably someone who started this thread has to take the onus of PMing everyone with the agenda and confirm their participation.
